I'm love divination. I'm Asian, and in our culture, divination is an element of the overall culture. I usually use a simple deck of poker cards or my TdM deck. I also use seashells and coconut shells, which are two traditional Afro-Cuban ways of divination which I was taught by my godparents. I hope to make new friends, and learn new things.

Welcome to the forum!

Like others I'd be interested to know how you use seashells and coconut shells for divination!

Thank you for the welcome everyone.

There are four round coconut disks called "chamalongos," and 12 seashells called "nkobos." You need a spirit to talk to in order for the chamalongos and nkobos to work. The spirit speaks through them. The chamalongos are used to answer Yes/No questions: depending on the patterns they fall in when you drop them. The 12 nkobos are dropped three times to derive three numbers which gives a much more indepth answer to questions. This divination session is done in light trance. They add extra information to card readings.

For example, you ask the spirit a question like: "Is there anything I can do to get a job promotion?" And you drop the chamalongos. The spirit may say "yes." And so you would ask the spirit to tell you what you can do to get the job promo by dropping the seashells to get more data. And you repeat the process until you are able to draw out from the spirit everything it has to communicate with you about that subject.

Welcome to the community @MissTerry and thanks for explaining about the divination system with chamalongos and nkobos . It's fascinating! :animated-smileys-signs-085:😀:78496:

We have a divination area over here for any divination methods which don't use a card system, so if you ever want to post about them with pics and a longer thread, that is the area if you want to share.
