Guest Posted December 27, 2017 Posted December 27, 2017 i have had pretty good luck with this in general. I do think that if you are going to choose your own significator you should shuffle and cut more as you ponder it. The card that would typically signify that item will sorta get out of the way so your substitute card can come to the front. I count on the fact that my subconscious knows where this thing is and I am going to set the card in the spot that points in the right direction. My subconscious is going to need time to learn what card I think stands for my keys, hence the extra time shuffling and meditating.
EmpyreanKnight Posted January 1, 2018 Posted January 1, 2018 I would like to use significators but I have FOMO - like I feel that the card may be needed to flesh out my spread. Like I would normally use the Knight of Pentacles as my significator since it's the GD court card for my birthday. But for my 42-card Months of the Year spread, it popped up twice. I do see the benefits of using one tho.
Starlight Posted January 1, 2018 Author Posted January 1, 2018 Interim update: I'm useless with a pendulum. :'( I have an ebook that does say you have to spend a LOT of time practicing to get good with a pendulum, so that particular method of enquiry is closed off to me for a while, anyway, esp if I want to find the ring quickly. One positive thing about my time with the pendulum is that I remembered having the ring on the Friday evening before Christmas Day. And therefore it is definitely at home. I had had misgivings that I'd lost it out shopping, but I hadn't been shopping between the 22nd and Christmas Day. I got the 5 of Wands when I did a quick mini-reading for more info on where the ring was. I interpreted that as a busy place, lots of coming and going. Or possibly a place where lots of cables were. Nada. Not in my writing room anyway. I should try the car, that said. That's the last place I remember having it. My husband has said that he is almost sure he saw it in the writing room on the evening of the 22nd. So, next method to try is whatsawhosit's. :)
Starlight Posted April 11, 2018 Author Posted April 11, 2018 An update. I FOUND MY RING! It was actually in the pocket of a hoodie I haven't worn for a while. I *may* have put it in there while wearing the hoodie one evening after visiting a friend, but it's been so long that I really can't remember... But I'm so glad I found the ring. :)
skywatching Posted April 12, 2018 Posted April 12, 2018 Yay !! Did any of the cards you pulled match with where your hoodie was? I find when using my cards to locate things that the imagery on the card can literally show me where something is more than the meaning of the card.
Starlight Posted April 12, 2018 Author Posted April 12, 2018 Yay !! Did any of the cards you pulled match with where your hoodie was? It was actually on me when I found the ring! lol I'd been wearing it several hours before I checked in the pocket. :) Looking back I got the 2S and The Hanged Man. Not really easy to apply them to the hoodie... I find when using my cards to locate things that the imagery on the card can literally show me where something is more than the meaning of the card. I will have to keep this in mind for the future! Thanks, skywatching[/member]! :) I dunno. I think I'm losing my touch with Tarot. It doesn't seem to be flowing as easily, any more. I really have to rack my brains trying to figure out what the story is when I'm reading. It might be time to look at another system of divination, perhaps. Maybe I need to take break from Tarot.
Canid Posted April 21, 2018 Posted April 21, 2018 I’ve discovered that the deck choice is very important in finding lost objects. Ones that have more modern images, such as home interiors, lawns, porches, vehicles, stores, etc. have really helped me in the past. For instance, Pagan Tarot, Jane Austen, Everyday Witch, etc., sometimes, the images themselves, not so much the trad meanings, will provide much insight. I wish I could find an old AT post, when I was guided to find a missing deck! It worked. The Ace of Pents can refer to finding lost items, but it’s the getting there...
Flaxen Posted April 21, 2018 Posted April 21, 2018 Agree, Canid that modern images work well for this sort of thing. Otherwise it can end up being a bit of an abstract guessing game. In the past I’ve had some success with horary astrology for finding lost objects but it’s not so quick and immediate as tarot for me to interpret. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Guest Posted April 22, 2018 Posted April 22, 2018 sometimes if the meaning of the card representing the place the item is lost to can appear to be a misnomer. This might be the moment to research the zodiacal correspondence to the card. in particular if you pulled court cards, unless someone stole the item, these are probably telling you where it is. i.e Capricorn basement or by stone, gemini in hallway, doorway or by the phone area, Scorpio by the kitchen sink, the toilet, or down the drain etc.
Nivian Posted April 22, 2018 Posted April 22, 2018 I lost the 4 of swords out of my fave RW deck. I was drinking wine and spilled the cards all over the floor. The next morning I collected them all up and was missing one. I looked EVERYWHERE. So today I read this post and using my Niccoletta Ceccoli deck I ask where is the card??? I draw the 3 of swords. The image is of a girl pinned to the wall like a butterfly right through her heart. So I think it means the heart or center of the living room. I look and look and do not find. It must be stuck up in a chair or something. Can anyone guess where it might me. It's very upsetting. Thanks

I know you've mentioned this before, but I can't remember if you pointed me in a particular direction to do some studying about it.... I'm so sorry if I'm asking this question twice.

Thanks I do not have a good track record using Tarot for finding lost objects, but one of the things that stands out is the swords. Could it be somewhere you keep knives? Or sewing equipment (the pin)? If you want more answers, it might be better to set up your own thread on this board - it'll get more attention that way. :) I hope you find the card soon!
Nivian Posted April 24, 2018 Posted April 24, 2018 Thanks Starlight...I'm going to check the knives and sewing area, good ideas!

That happened to me once, I had searched for months, neglecting to go through the deck, carefully checking. That 3 can represent your feelings of its separation, maybe it’s in seclusuin somewhere. I don’t see the 3 Swords as showing where though...
