Would love to hear everyone's thoughts on cards that lend themselves to apologies. I'm well versed in cards of communication, but often struggled to determine what the communication other than "positive" or "negative" might be, and apologies tend to fall into this gray area for me.

What are your top cards for indicating apologies, and why?

In the major arcana, I've always seen Judgment as the card of forgiveness, apology and reconciliation.

Speaking of the minor arcana, I always associate with the Ace, Two and Six of Cups.  Make sense?

Thank you!  Are you able to elaborate a bit more on the “why”?

Judgment is a good one.

I see Chariot as a marital counseling or a counseling card. It could be extended to an apology card I suppose. I'm no therapist but I'm pretty sure that one of the issues in relationships is forgiveness or lack thereof. That may be a bit of a stretch. Judgement is a better fit.

What about Temperance? It is one of the virtues, after all. "Love and forgiveness" and whatnot.

Lovers?

Six of Swords for me might indicate forgiveness.  A 'moving on' of sorts.

I'm sorry Maine. I responded quickly and didn't realize how rude I was. It will be great to talk more about it! 😍

If I had to choose a single card, it would be Judgment.
I think the judgment speaks of leaving the past, the old behind. Renovation and transformation. Liberation and resignification. It involves healing wounds and seeing new perspectives on the horizon. Value judgment where everything is put on the scales. A card that can advise the internal process of forgiveness, as well as - depending on the question and the other cards around - the act itself of going to talk to someone and apologizing. "I messed up". Because this card also brings the concept of trumpet, noise, speaking, announcement, communication. What do you think?

However, as the tarot is rich in meanings and signifiers, other cards can also provide us with clues on the subject.

I associate the ace of cups with new beginnings, restarts. When it comes to Grail symbolism, it can speak to the energy of spiritual/unconditional love, affection, healing and well-being. A watery, warm and receptive energy. Flexible and resilient.

When you look at the 2 and 6 of cups (using the RWS deck) you notice that there are two people who seem to be enjoying a harmonious emotional exchange. Union and cooperation. Concepts that may be connected to forgiveness and reconciliation. Reconciliation with each other (2) and with the past (6). In the 2 this integration is given by the caduceus and in the 6 the boy offers a cup with a white flower of peace 🫂

* Truth!! I hadn't thought about temperance, friends. It makes perfect sense, being a card of great spiritual energy, virtue, complacency and diplomacy.

What do you think Maine?

*Forgive my possible language errors. I'm trying hard to learn the beautiful language of English!

Fascinating!

Can you tell me more about why you connect The Chariot with counseling?

No apologies needed!

I agree with all of these, especially what you say relative to Judgement.

I could also see a 5 of Swords rx or 5 of Cups rx as representing a coming back together after a rift, or even a 9

of Swords as a catalyst that leads to an apology.

In the artwork, there is a figure joining two together that are working very hard at going their separate directions. It also follows the Lovers card abd precedes Strength.  It just seemed to fit at the time. Also, the 7th House governs house and home. Originally this idea came up in a reading suggesting marital counseling and since I have extended the meaning.
