Is it possible to delete notifications? I'm using my phone with stumpy fingers 🤣

Hey @Kate22 you can change how and what notifications you want to receive.

Go to your 'Account Settings' and then you will see 'other settings : notification settings'.

Here is a direct link to that setting - Notification Settings

For each section you can choose to get notifications or not and if you want to get notifications you can get them by.....

- Notification List (they appear on the bell icon on this forum's pages)

- Push (you need to allow push notifications in the browser at the bottom of this settings page)

- Email (to your forum registered email address, you can stop email notifications at the bottom of the page)

The other related page is Manage Followed Content you need to scroll down to topics on the left-hand side.

This is all your threads you are currently following and you can change the frequently on them or delete them if you like 🙂

Perhaps I haven't explained myself well.  On the notifications I have let's say 10, only 1 I will want to see again so I want to delete the other 9 so I can see that 1 easier.

I think I understand what you are saying @Kate22 🙂

The notifications list is on the top of the screen and a globe on the desktop version of the forum or a bell at the top of the menu and at the bottom of the screen on the mobile view. When new notifications come in, they have a red flag and if you have a look at the notifications list, it clears the red notification. Then the list has notifications and sadly there is no way to remove them there, they just stay and it will keep scrolling. Notifications you don't read are bold. We just tend to ignore the notifications they don't interest us on that list.

If you don't want a certain thread to appear in the list anymore, you need to edit the notifications from Manage Followed Content I talked about in the post above. There is no way of clearing the list of the notifications sadly.

One other option, some people on the forum regularly "mark site read" available at the bottom of every page. This clears any bold threads and you can just see what is new after that.

Thanks, this won't work.  Perhaps another way is how can I highlight or bookmark the notifications important to me?

Maybe you can select to not automatically follow any content, and then to manually follow whatever you know you are interested in. That should solve the issue, I think!

That's a great idea from @Raggydoll, @Kate22 🙂

You can get to those settings in the notification settings link I posted above. I had to turn off automatically following content because as a moderator I would be deluged by notifications after an hour 🤣

For my settings, I keep notifications on for Mentions & My Content and Reactions, so if anyone tags me it tells me (This is under the section Mentions & My Content)

I have turned off the automatically follow which is under the section Followed Content. I have the first two options under Automatically Follow Content both off. See this below.....

I manually followed the threads I want and it makes life a lot easier 🙂

You can untick or unselect those options and it will make life quieter.
