Hello, all.

I have not seen any mention on TT&M of the unfortunate passing of Poppy Palin. I just wanted to create a space where she can be remembered, and members of our community can be supported.

It is apparent to me that Poppy was a sensitive and empathic person, and I think she had a great deal of talent and love to share. I wish she had stayed with us so much longer. Everyone deserves to be loved, and to find new love, each and every day. The world is a vast place of immense possibility, change, and potential.

I would like to say more but will open things up for others. Moderators, please feel free to move this thread if needs be.

Rest well, Poppy. 🥀

That is sad news - I loved her Waking the Wild Spirit deck. It was so full of energy and became of real favourite. Her spirituality infused her decks and it was interesting to read her perspective on wild witchcraft.

I've moved this over to our more solemn In Memoriam section. Everyone is welcome to post their wishes and contributions towards Poppy.

RIP Poppy Palin 🙏❤️

Spoiler

Content warning: Suicide

Poppy posted some videos online on her youtube and this is not suitable for vulnerable people. Although it's her making a goodbye and eulogy, it contains talk of her intentions in a mostly respectful goodbye video

I am uncomfortable with this but I'm not reporting the videos.  I've watched all three.

We have put the videos behind spoiler tags and with a content warning and so people who don't want to see them, can avoid them. It was her wish for them to go out on the internet.

Caitlín Matthews confirmed the story today on her Facebook.

She and many in the tarot community are asking everyone to light a candle for Poppy ❤️ 🕯️

Oh, my heart is heavy for the loss of this kind, gentle, generous woman. 🕯️💔

Oh my gosh---she gave me a deck of the Wild Spirit for one of my recovery birthdays and I somehow lost it somewhere in a move which actually broke my heart.  I have a Wild Spirit I bought myself but I had trimmed it.  I love her decks and I have her books, too.  She wrote a novel and a couple others on spirituality plus the books for her decks.  I have the Everyday Enchantment Tarot and love it and I always loved her art and her wonderful way of gracing the world in spite of her illnesses.  I didn't know she had passed.  It makes me sad but I look forward to being able to cherish what I have that she created and I'll hope to meet her in the next life.

Oh, this is so sad.  I only became aware of her about two weeks ago, when I bought her Everyday Enchantment Tarot ...I wanted to write to her to tell her how much I enjoy the imagery in it ...only to find that she passed away a year ago.  Oh, what a real loss.  I'm gutted.
