Hi! Newbie here, so you might see me sometime ambling along trying to figure out how things work here. 😅

I'm a beginner practitioner of cartomancy (hedgewytchery), with oracle cards on the side. I do own tarot cards, but when I tried learning tarot reading and cartomancy, I find myself leaning more to using a regular deck of playing cards.

I joined this forum in a bid to encourage and motivate myself to practice more, so feel free to interact with me (especially those who practice the same system as me hehe).

Thank you! 💙

Thank you for the welcome! If I may ask, what system are you practicing/using?

I divine with tarot, Oracles, runes but I also do spirit/ancestral work and read signs/omens in nature etc!

Spirit/ancestral work? Now I'm curious to what does it entails. Do you perhaps communicate with them?

And even reading omens in nature too! Looks like you have years of experience under your belt. 🙇‍♀️

Yes I do communicate with them!

I started learning runes and reading cards at the age of twelve. I am turning 39 this year 😊 The practice of interpreting omens in nature is something I’ve picked up from family members as I was growing up. I’m not the first person in the family to practice divination or folk magic. That’s part of why my ancestral connection is so important. It fuels me. Runes also come pretty natural since I’m Norse.

Wow, I feel like having conversations with them will be very interesting. 😁

Ooh, so it runs in the family too. But being a practitioner for more than 30 years? The dedication and effort. 👏

On a side note, in our language, you are considered as an 'Ate' (pronounced as Ah-teh, which means an older sister/female) in relation to my age since I'm 28. 😁

I do not know much about runes, apart from they are a type of character/symbols, which can be written/carved in gems, cards, and I think in dices too? If I remember correctly.

For me, I'm mainly interested in card reading. But I struggle with being consistent with practice unfortunately. 😅

Hopefully I'll be able to practice more.

I wasn’t consistent in my practice in the beginning either. It was ebb and flow. But I always returned and my interest grew stronger with time. Community definitely helps as well!
