start444rot Posted July 30, 2022 Posted July 30, 2022 Does anyone else have a card in the deck that always seems to make it's way into your readings? Or does the energy of this card follow you (if that makes sense..)? I find that the Death card and the Fool are always making an appearance for me. I'm quite fond of them. For me it means that I'm getting away from the monotony of my current situation (whether that is a good or bad thing.. depends!) Is there a card you feel a certain love for or comradery with?
firepage Posted August 19, 2022 Posted August 19, 2022 I'm not being followed by any card right now, but for a full year I always drew nine of swords when doing readings for myself. After a while it sort of just became funny. I had struggled for a long time with pretty bad depression and anxiety so it was just like.. ok cards so it's this obvious to you too? Haha The last time I pulled nine of swords it was in pairing with the sun, one year ago. I was in therapy at the time and had just started to really get better! 🌞

I'm quite fluid when it comes to repeating cards, depends on the context whereas I've seen a few readers will always consider a repeating card as a 'hey you've read this wrong before, have another go'. The page of cups follows me around especially when using my crow deck and when doing an introductory hello pull from new decks I'm pretty much guaranteed to see the hermit or magician, if i don't then that deck is considered faulty 😆

In the 9ofS case it was really obvious that it was a reflection of my own state of mind, but sometimes I’ve actually been keeping pulling some cards that I’ve had a hard time understanding. Not as often as 9ofS was, but they keep popping up and confusing me a bit. Justice for example. Interesting!! Why do you think they follow you? ^^
SlightlyMagic Posted August 19, 2022 Posted August 19, 2022 That 9S sounds like it was a wake up call that you weren't picking up 😄 Aye justice is a major card that I don't gel with all that well, as a Libran I should probably relate more with it but it seems so harsh and forthright, can throw me a bit. The page of cups in the crow deck speaks to me. I have a bit of a thing for crows and on this particular card one is accompanied by a fish and crab, my partner is a pieses and my closest confidant is cancer. They've been my two tarot guinea pigs and it feels a very 'us' card.
Thereisnoalgebra Posted August 22, 2022 Posted August 22, 2022 I definitely didn't feel love, but the first time I tried Tarot I kept pulling the ten of swords. Whether it was a reading for myself or someone else, it would come up almost every time. I took a photo of it to make a post on a forum, but when I dragged the photo on my screen something glitched, and as I dragged the photo it just kept duplicating all over the screen! I was not ready for whatever message that was, so I put my cards away for a couple of years, and only just got back into them now.
DanielJUK Posted August 22, 2022 Posted August 22, 2022 I love that story, even being digitally followed by the ten of swords @Thereisnoalgebra You know it's a painful ending with that card and then it's about how you get back on your feet and recover from the worst of it 🙂

I find a lot of the same cards jump out at me over and over. I acknowledge them, keep shuffling and wham out the same one flies again straight onto my lap looking up at me. Show off. At the moment I am also having the fool come out a lot, along with the devil - the latter I feel is kind of annoying. I guess it means I need to confront my fears or some such thing....

I had this come out a lot, along with 5 of swords, when I was facing a lot of targeting at my workplace. No longer does 9 fo swords come out since I quit, although 5 of swords often makes an appearance still...

It always means (for me) that the worst has been experienced in a given situation, and from now on things will NOT get any worse. They will only get better. 10 of Swords upright is a nadir card for me—the lowest point on the scale for this event. Which is reassuring. The reversed 10 of Swords, however, means there is yet more negative stuff to come, before things start to improve. Not such a reassuring card to receive.
Jasmine Posted October 5, 2022 Posted October 5, 2022 Not currently but for awhile the 7 of swords was constantly jumping out at me. It turned out a man I liked who was expressing an interest in me was already in a relationship with a woman. When I met him holding hands with his girlfriend I wasn't that shocked, the 7 of swords had me prepared for something like that.
