Hi all, was delighted to find this forum as had been reading the interpretations in the closed forum. Tarot is a relatively new interest for me. Looking forward to learning more

No, I haven’t got a deck yet, really at the beginning stage.

Thank you all, I’m enjoying reading through the forums at the moment, I got a reading done a few weeks ago and found it very interesting. The reader told me to explore it myself as well

Not a deck yet eh ?

You can check our deck libary out. It is a little hard to find. Hit the three lines and scroll down  a little to you see deck libary.

Also aeclectic tarot has the older decks as it closed down in 5 years ago grouped in themes.

Finally with so many decks out there, you can really pick the right one for you..

Limke mermaids,  animals, fine

Some decks out there on that dogs and cats in particular.

If you are historian well lots of historical decks out there.

(Myself I got my eye on the labrynth tarot based on the movie still)

 2 buyer beware

1.your first deck you study is the one that will define you in the sense all other tarot imagery will be compared naturally by your mind

Example all my 60 to 80 decks  and I still compare everything to the waite imagery, system.

2. Sometimes the deck is hard to read ,

For me it's the Sherlock, Dracula, steam punk tarot.

Wanted to love them so bad then I realize almost their own system,

As a native Canadian Ojibwa you figure that I would love the decks based on my culture..

I have a couple of native decks. But just dint jive with me.

I do got the Celtics tarot (newerone) that I love the imagery.

Anyhow,  I encourage you to research many decks..for its gets additing. And you may end up with 2 to 3 boxes of tarot cards!

Fair enough!  You'll find lots of information around this forum and its a really interesting place even if you don't have a deck yet 🙂

But be warned, we are very good enablers.  We will encourage you to buy a deck.  Proceed at your own risk! 😆

Ha ha, thank you! Silly question from me please- can I not comment on old forum posts? I saw the rule about needing to have engaged with five posts before submitting an interpretation of a reading but I don’t know how I can post five times?

Yes you can, in fact  that is how moat get the posts, besides Commenting on hello threads

Find a couple of threads that catch your eye on talking tarot.

It's fine on this forum to comment on old posts and threads, however old they are 🙂

The 5 posts rule stops people accessing some areas, like the exchange and reading areas to prevent spammers. The main tarot area is open to you and now over 5 posts you can see every area 🙂

Other people have beat me to replying, but you're already over 5 posts through simply replying on this thread 😊 (Replies count as 'posts'!)

As Daniel said, it's to help us avoid spammers!

I'm in Ireland too so Céad Míle Fáilte duit agus go néirí an bóthar leat!

There are some great new age/esoteric shops around. I'm in Waterford city where I've spent some time browsing in the Purple Lotus. Dublin has a fantastic one called Dervish on Aungier Street which I popped into last week. They have a big selection of decks, as do larger bookstores - here in Waterford the Book Centre has several. I would guess you will soon be getting your first one....

Hi Michael! And thanks again Stephanie & Daniel. I’ve just posted my first thread in tech assistance- I’ve been reading about the Celtic cross as a way of interpreting the cards but I can’t find any threads discussing it here - maybe it’s not used much?

Besides the pm I sent you i think it is a case of expanding your search options in the search engine. To find my link I has to type in Celtics, title only and picked my name for author.

I was in articles when I clicked search so it stayed in articles. I changed to all areas to get it flowing.

Thank you Holmes - still trying to navigate my way

Have you found the Tarot Spreads section yet?

https://www.thetarotforum.com/forums/forum/14-tarot-spreads/

This would be the place to ask questions about using the Celtic Cross spread.

There are a few topics on it already I believe, here's a search that might help you:

https://www.thetarotforum.com/search/?q=Celtic cross&quick=1&type=forums_topic&nodes=14
