A Danish learner in Thoth

Hi 🙂

I'm Jakob Tekla.

I have been using and studying the Thoth tarot for about a year now.

I use it on a daily basis to understand the current situation in my life and to clarify specific questions.

Like most people I'm struck again and again by the power of the cards.

I use different spreads and techniques - existing and homemade too. So far my intuition in this respect has proven the most powerful tool. In the end the unconscious material surfaces anyway.

I'm here to learn and to know more.

I haven't read for anybody else yet...

Welcome to the forum @JakobTekla!

I've not personally studied the Thoth deck but I agree entirely on the power of the cards!  Aren't they wonderful!?

We have a section on the forum dedicated the Thoth which you might find interesting: https://www.thetarotforum.com/forums/forum/25-thoth/

Its been a bit quiet lately but do feel free to reopen old threads and post new ones 🙂

Hello new friend.

I love saturated thoth decks.

The first one I ever had was 1989 white box brought in Canada.

I traded it away, and got relieved another one from a differnt country and the colour was all green.it wasn't what they call a greenie, it actually was all green.

I got another one and the colors were muted.

So I researched a bit. And got a pocket size white box off ebay. It was the closest to what I had before

I first read of redone thoth scans with 100,000 camera.

I figured it would be vibrant and sharp.

I didn't listen to those who said it was more muter.

So I saw on you tube an excellent 10 deck comparison which included the new thoth

And the colors were more muted, and the images not so detailed, sharp.

I ended up desiring the new us version as  it was better colors.

So before you go down that thoth tarot deck hole..

You can wat h that you tube video and decide what you like.

My really green thoth came from Denmark area so perhaps you can find a better thoth !.

Welcome, Jakob!

I really like the Thoth deck too - it was the first deck I really read with for the longest time. Powerful cards indeed.

Thanks Stephanelli!

I will definitely look into the Thoth forum. I love the rich symbolism of this deck. It really speaks to me.

Well…I discovered a tarot forum (now no longer active) and discovered a whole world of decks. Started a collection, loved working with different symbolism/artwork etc. It helped me break out of a rut and grow in a different way as a reader.
Nowadays, I’m working on downsizing my collection but I have about 25 decks which are regulars - the Thoth is still one of them. 😀

See you in the Thoth area Jakob!  This deck is my touchstone and I am enthused to hear your experience and perspective.
