From his site (link to it is in the thread header):

My Newest Book

The Tarot, Magic, Alchemy, Hermeticism, and Neoplatonism

An exploration of the Tarot’s mystical roots, with a guide to The Tarot of Marseilles, The Waite Smith Tarot, The Alchemical Tarot, and The Tarot of the Sevenfold Mystery

Is Due to Arrive in the End of December

It can Now be Preordered

I will start mailing orders on the last week of December and the first two weeks of January, 2018

The Tarot, Magic, Alchemy, Hermeticism, and Neoplatonism is my newest book. It incorporates the material that was in Alchemy and the Tarot and The Tarot: History, Symbolism, and Divination, but updates the facts and, as you can tell by the title, covers a lot more material—about three times as much, with 680 pages and over 300 illustrations.

This book is intended to be a guide to my Alchemical Tarot and my Tarot of the Sevenfold Mystery. It will be the companion book for both decks. But it will also cover the Tarot of Marseilles and The Waite Smith Tarot. So that it will be a guide to the Tarot for anyone using any deck. Each chapter starts with a full-page illustration on the left hand page and the text on the right hand page.

Something else for the wish list. That's a pretty expensive book, but I think I'll have to get it at some point. I really like the Sevenfold Mystery deck and his previous tarot history book. And I still would like the alchemical deck at some point....

I don't have any of his decks but I do have his other book on tarot history and I really liked it so this book will most likely also go on my wishlist  :D

Who else is excited for Robert Place's latest magnum opus, The Tarot, Magic, Alchemy, Hermeticism, and Neoplatonism? It's bound to be released any time now. I know I said that I have a moratorium on deck- and book-buying until September, but come on, this is Robert Place!

This looks really interesting

IKR? I don't have the Sevenfold Mystery and I skipped the Alchemical because the available companion tome for it (which has been included in this new book) was mind-bogglingly priced. However, the two decks are available with the book in an attractively-priced package. I'm so trying my darnedest to hold back here, but I don't think I can. :-\

I find his postage prices steep, but yeah - just might cave. I have Place's Tarot of the Saints, as well as the Sevenfold - but not the Alchemical. I might get the Alchemical + Book option.

Oh dear - and there was me, saying no more decks!  ::)

I'd love to read this but with the shipping costs, I can't justify getting it - $70 in total is just too much.  :o

Yeah, the $35 shipping cost is rather steep. I wonder if he would add to it if one decides to add any (or both) of the two decks, if only to maximize this cost?

It's a good thing my agent is based in the US, tho with all the added fees and taxes, I might end up paying the same. It's less of a hassle tho.

The latest news from the site:

The shipment of books arrived at the docks on Christmas Day, but because of the holidays and the weather I will not have them in my hands until Tuesday, January 9th.  I will begin mailing the preorders at that time.

It can Still be Preorderd

His Tarot Symbolism book is at the library so maybe, just maybe, it will show up at the library.

Just received mine.  At almost 700 pages, the joy of wading through it will last a long time :).  Can't wait to get started!

Argh, barkingdeer! ~700 pages? And now I'm green with envy. :P Anyway, this book along with the two decks are so getting on my to-buy list.

I feel for all of you who live outside the US with those crazy shipping costs!  But at least you know you'll bet getting a good meaty tome you can sink your teeth into...I am excited for you EmpyreanKnight for whenever you decide to snatch it up!
