Hello, I am new to tarot, bought my first deck (gilded royale) a few months ago.

Ever since I have been so impressed by this seemingly magical practice.

I mainly do spreads (3 cards) on myself and friends. I have been wanting to join an online community to help with new spreads, interpretations and ways of practicing. I am very excited to learn more and to help others if I can.

Hi nice to meet you! I just literally joined as well 🙂 I bought myself a deck over the Summer and have been doing 5 card spreads.

I've been pulling spreads for myself lately and initially everything felt wrong and I was pulling all the cards wrong even when I was trying to follow the directions I find online, but lately

I've noticed I feel like my cards have been becoming more gradually accurate and I'm not sure if this is how it works and I just wanted some opinions and advice from the community on the cards I pull.

Also does anyone know if a specific tarot deck speaks better to you? Or connects better? Or is the first one you buy/receive is usually the best one?

I am sorry if I am posting in the totally wrong forum right now...lol

Yes there are so many decks it is quite overwhelming to choose and understand.   I was gifted cards with a book in a box.   I then decided to treat myself to a traditional set Ryder waite as I wanted to learn more about the cards.  I felt with a traditional set it would be easier to learn as there are more resources.

It was easy to buy too, from a well known high street store.

welcome to the forums @fool066. That looks like a beautiful deck.

Hi @GreenPlant sometimes when I get a new deck, I will spend a few weeks with it not doing many readings at all with it, just shuffling and playing solitaire with it. I know that sounds weird, but I feel it imbues it with my energy and I get used to the imagery in a non-pressured way.
