Hi, I’m Pliny (aka Ralph, shhh) and I’ve been studying Tarot for many years off and on. This doesn’t mean I’m good at Tarot, but I am good at collecting it! I don’t post much, but read and learn a lot. ! I love Tarot history, but I can still be suckered in by a pretty deck!

I focus on RWS because of its G:.D:. principles going back to the cypher manuscripts. I dropped out shortly before Aeclectic went under and I’m glad I found this forum; It truly is a spiritual continuation of AT.

Cheers to all!

Welcome to the community @Pliny 😀:animated-smileys-signs-085::78496:

Were you Ralph on AT? We do try to keep Aelectic going here and there are many former members but also we have evolved our own community identity 🙂

You are good at persevering with tarot on and off over the years! 🤣. Collecting is good!

Welcome! Nice to meet you. Collecting seemed to come easier for me than reading did. 😁 Now I love it though and will be a forever learner.

Daniel, I was Pliny on AT, these fora are the only places I use this handle. I go away and the world changed: AI decks, video walkthrus (wonderful), many new decks and books... whew

Find, (if I may be so informal) I have the collector's disease, but I like to try reading too. I'm a perpetual noob.

My first day here and I found 2 new decks I "have" to have: Katz's Tarot of the Everlasting Day Beginner's (A.I.! Book T!) and the Sawyer Redux (astro/elemental symbols on all cards!).

Le sigh.

PS: anyone else miss Le Fanu? His blog was wonderful...

Oh, it is so easy to find interesting decks on this forum.

Never heard of Le Fanu.

Well Welcome! 🙂

Also I think a big change is that people can easily self-publish now and not have to get picked up by the big publishers. Some people entirely have a hit deck all by themselves these days, either by selling it on Etsy or crowd funding their project 🙂 .

It's very enabling! 🤣

When you get to 5 posts there are less posting restrictions and you can see the tarot reading and exchange areas on the forum. The whole place up opens up to you.

I am in vague contact with Le Fanu, he uses social media but sadly very rarely about tarot and divination these days. I think he got tired about it all and has other things in his life now. I think he closed the blog as well 😞

He is a member here but hasn't been here since the start. He very rarely posts tarot or deck stuff now anywhere, such a loss 😞
