Hi, I'm a tarot artist

Hello, I'm a digital and collage artist. I'm making a deck about scientists' discoveries that have been buried to history, whether because they were too brilliant, or because they were from a minority. Let me know if you can think of anyone, or a particular invention. I also read tarot, and do collective readings. Will show artwork as I make it.

Hi and welcome, @Initiatrix.

This is very interesting. The only example I can offer off the top of my head is Greek Fire. It was such a highly-effective weapon for the Byzantines that they treated it as a closely-guarded state secret. To prevent it from falling into enemy hands, they compartmentalized the process of creating it. Parts of the formula were assigned only to specific groups of people, who alone were tasked to prepare it upon command, while others were only apprised about the production of the actual weapons system. Sadly, it seems like the original recipe has been lost around the time of the Sack of Constantinople by the unholy Fourth Crusade, so that what survived by the time their last dynasty assumed power is an inferior copy. I guess that in the chaos of war, a crucial part of their knowledge chain was wiped out.

Of course, since this is history you may want to check out if this has been superseded by more recent research before you consider using it. See you around the threads!

@Akhilleus I have heard of it, and wasn't sure if it was real. There was conjecture about the substances used, but its true, that one would have to see a genuine example tried out in real life to know it was the genuine Greek Fire. Fire on water is a dynamic one.
