SunshineMoon Posted December 29, 2022 Posted December 29, 2022 I wanted to re-introduce myself. I got rid of my first deck (Thoth) because I could not connect with it. I ended up getting the Classic Tarot and I actually connect with it. I bought a 2023 yearly tarot journal and planner from Etsy. I think it will be a neat way for me to get to know tarot. I’ve had a hell of a year. I met my happiest self, I had everything that I’d ever wanted, but it all got destroyed. Tarot has been a way to help me cope. Are you all ready for the new year?
joy Posted December 29, 2022 Posted December 29, 2022 Hello @SunshineMoonwelcome back then! Not sure yet if I am ready for 2023, but I still have some time, right 😅
SunshineMoon Posted December 29, 2022 Author Posted December 29, 2022 You do still have some time, Joy! Not much, but I think it is enough. Do you do yearly tarot spreads each year?

No I do not do a spread for a whole year. I am not a person who plans too much in advance and I think if I would see troubles coming my way eight months in advance I would not be able to relax.
SunshineMoon Posted December 29, 2022 Author Posted December 29, 2022 That makes a lot of sense. I can totally understand that. How long have you been doing readings?
SunshineMoon Posted December 29, 2022 Author Posted December 29, 2022 What was the hardest part for you to learn? And, what deck do you use?
Strength Posted December 29, 2022 Posted December 29, 2022 welcome @SunshineMoon I couldn't connect with my Thoth when I had it years ago either. It was just too esoteric for me, if that's the right word. The hardest part of the Tarot I find are the Court Cards. I'm still struggling with them.
SunshineMoon Posted December 30, 2022 Author Posted December 30, 2022 Strength, it is interesting to me that you could not either. Which deck do you use now? Esoteric is the right word and it sums it up totally! Court Cards are definitely complex. They are one of the most difficult aspects for me. My biggest thing is trying to understand card combinations!
DanielJUK Posted December 30, 2022 Posted December 30, 2022 Welcome back @SunshineMoon sometimes we don't get on with decks but find others that fit us perfectly, so it's good to try another one and hope you have better luck with it 🙂

My biggest thing is trying to understand card combinations! I started out with the Radiant Rider Waite and the Robin Wood. My current fascination is with the Light Seer's deck. It just clicks with me.... except for the court cards lol. That will be a work in progress.
SunshineMoon Posted December 31, 2022 Author Posted December 31, 2022 DanielJUK, a new deck can absolutely make all of the difference! Which deck do you prefer? Strength, I haven't heard of the Light Seer deck. I will have to check it out! I am glad that you have found some that you have been able to work with!
