Hey Gang…. I dabbled with tarot for four years or so, but lately it has become my passion. I did an “official” (to myself) re-boot of my relationship with tarot on this past Winter Solstice.

The first order of business was to clean up and organize my sacred space (The Cosmic Command Post) and get all the cat hair off my meditation mat and cushion (The Mindsweeper). Since then I’ve been reading books and doing spreads every day. Also refining my rituals.

Nothing against RWS or Thoth, but right now I’m all about TDM… just loving it.

Glad to be here!

Hi @BradGad

I've been reading since 44 years ... but I did "swear off" Tarot for a few years ... from 2007 - not sure exactly. It was a huge reset of my relationship to spirituality AND my relationship to Tarot. I think if we're in it for the long haul ... this is perhaps the only way to grow.

LOL in 2022 I challenged myself to read with Tarocchi and TdM / Pip style decks. After so many years with RWS ... I had to find a way to force myself back into "beginners mind" so I could understand my students better. Although I will never love the classic french woodcut TdM decks ... I've discovered I adore reading with Pip decks. My tastes just happen to run more to the Italian style or modern styles.

Anyway, your post really resonated. Happy New Year.

Welcome to the community @BradGad :animated-smileys-signs-085:😀:78496:

It was fascinating here during the pandemic in March 2020, you would think that people would turn to divination and tarot in the unpredictable and unprecedented times. But what actually happened is the forum and exchanges went quiet, everyone needed some time out. I had no emotional energy personally to read for anyone else or myself for so many of those early months but it came back. So many members were the same. We all need time away from it and then at other times we need it and also different decks and systems appeal to us at different times. So really what I am saying, is go with the flow with it! 🙂

100 word limit? Oh the humanity!

I don’t know if I can live with that.

Thanks you two (I had more to say).

Oh. Well alrighty then!

[insert Ace Ventura meme]

I didn't post this reply just to get to closer to five. It needed said.

Now I need to go find some sub-forum where I can unload my un-informed, total-gormless-noobie opinion, and I'll be pretty much there.

@Misterei…Phrase “beginner’s mind” clicks for me… Syncs with all the readings I’m getting now. Lots Pages, low-numbered pips. From cards now, “You’re a beginner. Cool! Can be one of the most fun parts of the trip! Enjoy.” Today, in the position about “Less of this now; don’t concentrate on this”, The World. Of course as positive a card as can get, but the message was pretty clear: “The World is about completion of a process/progression. That’s not where you are. You’re a beginner (you just re-booted less than a month ago, fr’crissakes)... look at that outcome card… it’s a Page
