EmpyreanKnight, do you read professionally? I'm curious how you manage four decks?  Thanks

I've been in the mood for some classic RWS but the Centennial is busy... I guess I'm doing the Original and admiring the Centennial after I pull the cards  :o

I don't read professionally, but I have a lot of free time this week after having my dance card full almost every night during the holiday season, so I plan to perform a bunch of readings that use huge spreads. A 13-card Past Year Spread with the Renaissance, a 12-card New Year Spread with Barbara Walker, and a 54+ card Comprehensive Months Of The Year Spread with the Centennial. I'm going to record my interpretations for all three of them in my journal here too. I know it's going to be quite an undertaking so I'm gonna bring out them big guns. 8)

I have worked extensively with the Centennial and the Barbara Walker for the past year, so I pretty much know how to dance with them. Now the Renaissance - I only got the deck and its magisterial companion book last month so it's going to be a bit more slow-going. But since it has captured my heart, I know that I'd just enjoy every moment of it. :)

I also plan to dedicate the Tarot of Shadows on the 12th which is fittingly a Friday, so yeah. That deck - oh I really must stop before I start dripping purple prose o'er m'amante Russe.

I am sticking with Tabula Mundi and Thoth this week. I really enjoyed the side by side daily card comparison so will keep that going a bit longer.

I've enjoyed your side by side comparisons! :) I got so much more from the Tabula Mundi and Rosetta, I ended up giving my Thoth away.

This week I'll be using the Hezicos Tarot, created and self-published by Mary Griffin. Along with it I'll be using the Way of the Horse, an oracle deck and book set created by Linda Kohanov with Kim McElroy and published by New World Library. The two cards drawn for today are the King of Cups and 'Believe:'

KgCups.jpg  believe_0002.jpg

The King of Cups offers emotional support and wisdom. He suggests we look at our emotions mindfully and points out the spiral on his shell-crown. "We usually travel over and over in the same circle, feeling happy in one arc and depressed in another.Yet if we pay attention from an objective standpoint, we can travel in a spiral upward, finding insights along the way rather than staying stuck in a loop." The Believe card from the Way of the Horse refers to how we (our egos) carve an identity for ourselves like a statue. Unfortunately, as the companion book states, "What we carve in stone threatens to turn our minds to stone." I was reading Jan Karon's latest book from the Mitford series, and came across a line that hit me between the eyes: we don't have to define ourselves by our wounds. How often has the pain of the past become a permanent way to identify myself? Yet choosing not to do this doesn't mean I close the door on what was and pretend it didn't happen; instead I can look back to gain wisdom from lessons learned and open to gratitude for what was good and beautiful. If I'll travel in a spiral rather than a circle, I'll realize that I am much more than an event in the past. I am what I am only in each moment.

Very different imagery in the TM and Thoth this week to represent 'Lord of Earned Success' with keyword 'Science'.

The Six of Swords is the new moon in the middle Decan of Aquarius, ruled by Mercury.  TM shows a sextant, a device used in both navigation and astronomy and the six swords form part of a model of the solar system.

In Thoth the points of the six swords all come together at the centre of a rosy cross. If the cross represents the human body and the rose represents the individual's unfolding consciousness, then mercury is the mind - an inherent power of consciousness. M.M. Meleen talks about this card in her blog as says of it - "In this card is all the beauty of the intellect in its highest form of consciousness."

So today is about using my intelligence to go on a journey of discovery of the mind. I feel like I'm doing that every day studying this deck! I've also learned the next new moon in Aquarius is 15th Feb [emoji846]4d699a5cd7ab58b12cf4758239911251.jpg

The Thoth is in my top three. I guess if one is a Thothie, one would inevitably come to the point where one has to explore the Tabula Mundi and the Rosetta. The former, particularly, has been growing up on me.

Hey VG, please sign me up with the

Pagan Otherworlds Tarot and Golden Lenormand Oracle.

Thank you for the thread!  :-*

Lately, I'm finding it difficult to read every day and haven't even unsealed the Golden Lenormand yet. I've been crocheting and re-watching Downtown Abbey, instead.

Since I was sick all last week, I didn't really do any Tarot related things. So, I'm in with the Basic Tarot - again ...

Five of Wands today. Lord of Strife. This so accurately reflects how I'm feeling. I've got a real tension headache, too much to do at work and building frustration with the lack of progress I'm making on a few fronts. This card warns that pressure is mounting and I need to let off steam (without any damaging eruption in the office!). 4c8b389cb716e395ee44b2846c544868.jpg7b4144ed4364569d012b041970918eca.jpg

Thanks EmpyreanKnight! It's good to feel like being up and about again ... mostly. The infection flared back up Monday, so Tuesday the Dentist put me on a different antibiotic and a prescription mouth rinse. Luckily, I still had pain meds left from before ... I still needed them.

Well I'm VERY late this time, but I've been working with the Science Tarot this week and meant to share that with the group!

Thank you, AJ. That helps. This has been going on for awhile. I want it to stop now. I have far too many cards to not be interested in them. :o
