@Esclarmonde we have similar tastes. I also included Legacy of the Divine. I adore Golden Wheel. I have Pre-raphaelite … but it’s in my purgatory area. Not sure if I’ll keep it. LOVE the deck and the LWB … but found I just don’t read with it. I have the Mucha deck and actually read with that one alot … so idk why Mucha was a hit and PRT was a miss vis a vis actually reading.

Looks like my pocketbook lucked out,  but may have just missed purchasing a Norse Tarot.  Is that the one by Clive Barrett?  Would love to see some of it after I have a few more posts.  I remember from the old Eclectic Tarot wondering why I could not post, and took a while to learn I had to post in other areas before readings.

Yes, it's the one by Clive Barrett. According to the deck list on the Aeclectic website, it's out of print now. I bought it a long time ago from a website that I can't recall the name of, other than that it started with Green Man and the... .

I'm on the fence about the first one. It's compelling ... but not sure I would use it.

I have a strong connection to Persian culture ... so I like Oriental WAAAAY more than most people.

Prolly only a Persian person could like that deck more than I do };>

I am new to tarot so I only have about 2 tarot decks and 2 oracle decks. My forever number 1 is my golden Botticelli deck, it was my first one and the connection we have is out fo this world. I also have the Smith-Waite deck with key words, phrases, and numerology that I got from esty but I down have the came connection to it.

I updated my list to add the Adrian Tarot. I totally forgot about this one. I normally don't like digital decks, but this one is in a league of its own. It's from 1997 and is one of the first of its kind. It isn't for everyone.

It also reminds me the I have rather "aeclectic" taste when it comes to tarot!)

When I got the deck I wanted to love it, but did not.  I liked it but really did not connect with it so I decided to do 21 Ways to Read a Tarot Card with the deck to really get to know it.  I spent a little over a year working with that deck with that book and by the end of it I was totally in love with the deck (and very happy about it).   I call it my social commentary deck.  I love how it can be so matter of fact, sometimes sarcastic, humorous, and very in your face.  Just a fabulous deck.

Hi folks! Has anyone here adjusted their list?

I had to switch out my "pandemic deck" to what I am quite fond of these days!

How did your list change? And I’m curious about your ‘pandemic’ deck. Which deck was that?! 😊

I don’t think I ever made a list in this thread! Not sure if I have ten current tarot favorites, it might be a shorter list than that.

I think I may have, and I'm mulling over some new purchases. Glad to see this thread revived @Scandinavianhermit!

I removed the Olympus Tarot and added the Brady Tarot to my list. I'm not sure if my list is in any particular order anymore though 😉 I'm on the fence about adding the Infernal Tarot. I'm growing to like it!

So these are the tarot decks that I use the most and/or love the most. Most of my divination is done with non-tarot systems, so that is why my selection is slim.

I’d say that Stella’s tarot, ‘Blushing fool’ RWS, Pierre Madenie, Roots of Asia and Tarot of the Crone are my most loved decks. Sasuraibito, Stretch tarot and Herbcrafters decks are decks that I love to use for specific purposes.

Oh well, for some reason it was the Light Seer's Tarot.

I liked that the cards are sturdy, the images have no white or otherwise frame, the modern feel, the fond used - and that I found it quite uplifting in trying times, when we were totally isolated on our 160 acres homestead in the middle of the bush.

But post pandemic - I have not touched this deck!

All in all right now I am quite enamored with decks without humans in the images = several Animals in natural scenery only and also decks with only Plants - no 5 cups or 3 swords etc. in the image.

Examples for these are the Guardian of the Night, an Animal only deck, which still has the suit symbols on the images and the Alchemist's Garden, with only the plants depicted.

My current top ten tarot decks, strictly ordered by frequency of use (I use other cartomancy decks as well).

Morgen Greer Tarot
Ferenc Pinter Tarot (2nd edition)
Tarot Neoclassique (Fabbri)

The Light and Shadow Tarot
Le Psycho Tarot
Dreaming Way Tarot
Druid Craft Tarot
English Magic Tarot
Durer Tarot (Lo Scarabeo)
Mary-El Tarot (2nd edition)

Honorary mention: The Philosopher's Tarot by Sereptie. I consult this deck when I need it more meta than tarot. I tend to approach this deck with a kind of "OK, now you tell me!" attitude. It's fun and it really broadens my understanding of the cards and even their concept (thanks to its concise, little black book).

Going for beauty alone, my ten favourites would look different. And the selection would probably change again if I'd choose based on how much I love a deck.
Anyhow, the Morgan Greer would always be on one of the lists.

I find it interesting that your criterium of frequency of use differs from 'beauty alone' and on 'how much I love a deck.  Aesthetics trumps all for me, although when I look at my list of top ten, see above, there are several that I do not love aesthetically.  Generally though, the beauty of a deck is the first criterium by which I choose to consider evaluating using a deck and adding it to my collection.  Sometimes, if it's not too much trouble I and maybe others would love to see your top ten for your other 2 categories, namely 'beauty alone' and 'how much I love a deck'.
