Deck of the Week Sign-up Thread, Week 293: Feb. 18 - Feb. 24

I did a deck interview spread made specifically for the Transparent Tarot deck, which I found on the Aeclectic forum.

This spread is inspired by the Dance and Dancer Spread in the 2001 Llewellyn Tarot Calendar. I've rearranged the layout of the cards, changed both the order of the elemental info and one of the points of info given by the spread and added in both the Film Strip (FS) and Combined Image (CI) features of the Transparent Tarot. This spread can be used with any deck, but works best with the Transparent Tarot. It isn't just a new deck interview since it can be used as a check-in from time to time (a deck's energies can change; as a reader grows, they can bring different things to the deck; the deck can always teach the reader something new; and the working relationship between reader and deck can also change).

1...4...7...10
2...5...8...11
3...6...9...12

CI#1 (1-2-3) - Earthy, grounding energies of the deck
CI#2 (4-5-6) - Airy, intellectual energies of the deck
CI#3 (7-8-9) - Watery, emotional energies of the deck
CI#4 (10-11-12) - Fiery, active energies of the deck
FS#1 (1-4-7-10) - What the reader brings to the deck
FS#2 (2-5-8-11) - What the deck will teach the reader
FS#3 (3-6-9-12) - How the reader and deck will best work together

My cards were

1. Chariot              4. Justice             7. Lovers                10. King of Swords

2. Ace of Cups       5. Hanged One   8. Seven of Cups    11 Four of Pentacles

3. Queen of Cups   6. Magician        9. Four of Swords   12. Queen of Pentacles

This is Composite Image 1, Chariot, Ace of Cups, Queen of Cups.

The film strips were more interesting though. Here is 'What I bring to the deck':

So I bring my dynamic energy, the sharpness and intellect of the swords, and the balance of the lovers.

Here is what the deck will teach me:

Two cups suit, so emotions are highlighted. The Ace for beginning an emotional journey, Hanged One for seeing things from a different perspective, Seven of Cups for making choices, and the Four of Pentacles for appreciating what I have.

And finally how we will work best together:

Queen of Cups, again mastery of emotions, Magician working magic together, Four of Swords taking time to rest and recover, and the Queen of Pentacles for nurturing and cherishing.

I really love this deck and the potential for creating wonderful composite and film-strip images 🙂

@Rachelcat ... I find both of those intriguing. There is definitely something tugging at me.

You don't have internet this week, but if you take your decks, you'll still be connected.

I took the decks and a notebook to my mom's and this is what I came up with!

I've decided to join in this week with my Witchling academy Tarot. It reminds me a bit of Harry Potter. The characters in the cards are predominantly females so it's imbalanced in that respect. I'll post the deck orientation spread soon.

I ordered this from the Llewellyn tarot sale.  I resisted as long as I could!  So I'll be sharing my readings with it soon!

In the meantime, yesterday and today:

I hope you enjoy it. I'm looking forward to reading what you come up with.

Here's my week's worth of daily card draws using the Transparent Tarot.

Today's cards were The Lovers, Four of Swords and Nine of Cups. They make a nice composite image. So partnership and balance, rest and recuperation, heart's desire. This could make a good sigil for the happy life!
