Moony Posted February 18, 2023 Posted February 18, 2023 I was going to do some readings eventually in the future pertaining to my relationships with people. I think it would be really cool to include each individual's Tarot birth card to help understand their actions and personalities and going forward or even letting go of theses relationships. What are some good ways to include the tarot birth card in spreads? I would like to know peoples thoughts on this idea too because I am very new to tarot! thank you!
DanielJUK Posted February 19, 2023 Posted February 19, 2023 Some readers don't do birth cards at all because it's a part of tarot which is basically numerology associations. It's non-traditional. That isn't to say there is anything wrong with doing that, you should try it out and see if it's a good method. I haven't heard of them used in that way before, so you should definitely report back with how it goes if you try it out. Personally I would choose a signficator to represent them, a card to represent them. Maybe linked to their birthday (astrology associations, you can find charts online of all the dates for the cards) or just choosing one card from the deck that best represents them as a person. As a method, I would take the birth card or signficator representing them and place it down first and then do a spread under. Or put the card representing them next to a position representing them in a spread. Incorporate it into the spread somewhere. You don't read the card, it's more of a focus.
Misterei Posted February 19, 2023 Posted February 19, 2023 Hmmm. I never mixed birth cards with spreads. I generally use spreads to answer a question. Birth cards are more exploring someone's personality. 2 dfferent things (to me, anyway). I do like Angeles Arrien book for her system of birth cards and personality cards. It's based on Crowley's original system ... but she makes it easier and more humanistic.
trivialuvs Posted March 27, 2023 Posted March 27, 2023 As someone who really finds calm in manipulating numbers, I had a LOT of fun finding my birth cards with Mary K Greer's Archetypal Tarot. It helped from a introspective point of view to study myself. My main card is The Hermit, along with the Moon and 9 of each suit.

I typically use the birth and year cards for people I do birthday spreads for. I use them as overall influences over the spread. Edited April 1, 2023 by Jewel
