dragontarot
Hi everyone. (I'm sorry, my English is not perfect.) I have a deck called "Tarot de Los Angeles" and I wonder how I can use or study this deck. (Tarot name, but more like an oracle in my opinion.) It's about angels, but I don't think it's the same as Angel Tarot (Kabbalistic angels of the Shem HaMephorash) or Doreen Virtue's angels. Can I get some advice? gregory
I quote from Aeclectic: Quote The Tarot de los Angeles is a Spanish-published deck, with 78 cards and an unusual structure relating to the groups of angels, archangels, faeries, gnomes and seraphim. I would agree that it isn't a Tarot deck. It even says it has an "unusual structure". Is there a decent manual - I don't own it as I don't buy or use oracles, and that is where I think this deck fits. I think you'd need to study it as a stand alone - and hope that someone else here is also interested....
gregory
ETA - I found an old thread - very brief - about it: https://www.tarotforum.net/threads/tarot-vs-oracle-a-question-of-numbers.198350/
DanielJUK
You posted perfectly in English @dragontarot 😀 Welcome to the community I looked up this deck online and it should have come with a guidebook / leaflet with detailed meanings of each card. Hopefully in your home language. I would look at the cards that come up and see what their properties are in the book. Most oracles work by each card (animals, angels, vampires, whatever their theme) having a value. For example this angel coming up means happy times or intuition needed in this situation or this is a warning. So read what the properties of the card are and then apply to the reading. Some oracles you have to use the provided meanings of the cards, you need to know what each is supposed to mean. Once you have that, you can decide how it applies in the reading. Good luck with it, sometimes you have to spend time with a deck to get to know it 😀
Saturn Celeste
I know this thread is old and @dragontarot will most likely not see this but I just want to reply in general in case anyone else has this question about the deck. When I use this deck, I read it as an oracle and I have a few angel books I purchased to go with the deck. I just look up the corresponding angel and apply that information in the message. It could be certain angels are trying to guide you or even if you pull just one card, that could be the prominent angel active in your life. But I found the deck impossible to read without some additional angel guidance.
