Chariot Posted March 6 Posted March 6 (edited) Okay. Just broke down and ordered the 200-card Tea Leaf Tarot, by Rae Hepburn—which I definitely didn't 'need'. It should arrive in the next couple of days. I find the concept intriguing and the individual round cards potentially quite helpful and specific. Once I discovered the cards can be shuffled inside a bag, the whole problem of how to shuffle 200 round cards became quite easy to solve. So hey-ho. A treat for myself. We await developments. DanielJUK Posted March 6 Author Posted March 6 It's a really interesting oracle to have in your collection. According to the info about it, it's superb for calendar readings (like for the months / year ahead).
Chariot Posted March 8 Posted March 8 My Tea Leaf Tarot just arrived ...a day early. Oh goodie. I'm off to unbox it and see what to make of it.

Nemia Posted April 16 Posted April 16 I have ordered four decks for my Taurus birthday, but they'll probably arrive in ca. six weeks... I don't care, I'm used to waiting. The four decks are: Good Fortune Tarot Tarot of Magical Hours Tarot of Oppositions Flowerchild Tarot I'm very excited and happy, and I'll post pictures once they arrive.
KaiNO Posted April 17 Posted April 17 I've recently rediscovered Kickstarter and realized I'd completely forgotten about a project I backed in 2022 🙄 One I never received because shipping hadn't been paid. I took care of that, and yesterday it finally arrived! 🙂 On the left in the picture above, that's The Light in the Mist - A Tarot Puzzletale from Kickstarter. On the right side of the photo, that's something else that arrived same day, some astrology reference cards I got from Etsy. I plan to use them like flashcards to help me memorize and better remember the meanings of different astrological elements. Here are a few more pictures: Otherwise, I keep seeing so many beautiful tarot decks I'd love to have, including one of those you mentioned above, @Nemia. But now I have to restrain myself🤞 I’m still waiting to receive: - The Tarot of Secrets - The MicroCosmic Oracle

Nemia Posted April 18 Posted April 18 Really? That's fantastic, how do you like them? Did you write about them? I must have missed it.
Natural Mystic Guide Posted April 18 Posted April 18 2 hours ago, Nemia said: how do you like them? I have mixed feelings about both decks. 1. Good Fortune Tarot This is an overall good workhorse deck. I'm always looking for well done Rider Waite clones for if I am working with a group and want to give everybody their own deck to use. I like the art and the use of different motifs throughout such as owls and bees. Except almost all of the people look as though they have swallowed something very unpleasant. Weird facial expressions. I'm not a big Barbara Moore fan. We have very different takes on many cards -- it's a nice big detailed guidebook. 2. Tarot of Magical Hours The premise behind this deck is fascinating. The idea is that different cards fall into different parts of the day and that these different parts of the day carry special meanings. In actuality this premise is just not well developed. I like the art. It is a little dark, but really pretty and unique. I like that most of the figures are female or ambi.
Tanga Posted April 20 Posted April 20 (edited) Oooh - some interesting decks to look at & read about here... By chance I discovered that Phyllis Curott (Years ago I read her book "Book of Shadows" and was inspired) produced a Tarot and Oracle deck a couple of years ago. So, I'm waiting for that. Not the 1st deck I've purchased purely due to association with the author. It's the Witches' Wisdom Tarot & Witches' Wisdom Oracle. I'm curious...🧐 Edited April 20 by Tanga

Marina Posted May 8 Posted May 8 The postman just brought me a 1970 Morgan Press Aquarian Tarot! I missed this deck. I sold mine during a complicated time in my life where I got rid of a lot of my stuff… but I regretted letting go of my Aquarian. I found it in an online platform here where people sell second hand clothes and stuff. It was fairly cheap, considering how absurdly expensive decks (old and new!) have become here.
Toreador Posted May 9 Posted May 9 I just bought the True Black Tarot and its twin, the Ephemere Tarot. They are so much better in the flesh. Their aesthetic, systems, material - all first-rate. What truly sparked my interest is how their respective trumps plumb the traditional Fool's Journey of modern Tarot and the Hero's Journey by Campbell. I was considering purchasing Arthur's Deck of Many Things too, with its art that far exceeds this duo's. Thing is, its divinatory system is basically nonexistent, and its very box indicates a future expansion. I'll be keeping an eye on it.
Nemia Posted May 11 Posted May 11 I have ordered the Endless Tarot. It will take some time to reach me, but I don't care. I've watched some YouTube videos of the deck in action, and it seems to work well for those who have it. It's a myriorama deck where all the cards connect to each other, and since I often like to find the narrative that connects the cards, I feel drawn to this deck.

It looks very cool, I like the storytelling aspect. I saw that there was also an Oracle, which I would be seriously tempted to get if it had been sold in Europe. I don’t wish to spend that much on shipping and customs for a deck anymore, so that’s a bummer 😕 I look forward to hearing what you think of this deck once you’ve received it and had a chance to work with it!
Toreador Posted May 29 Posted May 29 (edited) My Bohemian Cats Theater Tarot arrived just a few hours ago, and I'm raring to play with it Patience is a virtue though, and since I only plan to unseal it this coming solstice, I decided to gambol with the Baroque Bohemian Cats in the meantime. From what I can see, they are two entirely different decks - exactly as advertised. I can't compare the cards themselves yet, but from the illustrations in their respective books, one can see that the Theater is in no way a derivative of the Baroque. Speaking of the companion books, I compared the texts of a few cards and I was pleasantly surprised. The explications of each card - the keywords, detailed meanings, supplementary information, etc - between the two books are manifestly distinct. But then again, considering Baba Studio's reputation for sterling quality, I should have expected that they would not resort to rehashed writings. Here are some literal texts fur the Six of Wands. The one on top is from the Baroque while the other is from the Theater. I preserved the original resolution so that one can peruse them easily. The Baroque book is more detailed so I prefer it. But it's apples and orangs, really. One last thing. I am admittedly more of a dog person. What truly endeared this deck to me is the fact that there's a cunning canine that has deceptively ensconced himself in one of the cards. Can you guess which one it is? Edited May 30 by Toreador Ahem. I am more sober now.

I am done buying decks until next month, when a deck I'm waiting for will be released.
KaiNO Posted Monday at 09:46 PM Posted Monday at 09:46 PM (edited) Four decks arrived last week: Deck: Conjunction Tarot Kickstarter deck a year ago. I had to get this version while it still was available. Deck: Marea Tarot I looked at the deck collection of @bookshop and this was one of the interesting decks I found there. Deck: Röhrig Tarot This was originally one of the decks I bought early on and loved, and at the time I didn't know that the deck I ended up buying was a fake deck. I didn't realize this until later, and I've had a bad conscience ever since for owning a fake deck. I haven't used the deck for spreads. I've tried a few times to get hold of an original, but these are really expensive in themselves plus the import fees that come with it. However, I eventually found out that the deck has a website where you can buy new cards. So now my conscience is a bit clearer ☺️ Deck: Tarot of Forbidden Dreams This is a second-hand deck I managed to get my hands on. It was a bit of an impulse when I found it as I already have a deck by Eugene Vinitski, and I also have two other of his decks on order. I didn't research this deck before buying and in retrospect it's probably not quite my style. The cards in the picture above are more or less all the cards I found that don't show genitals 🙄 I'm a bit unsure on what occasions it will be appropriate for me to use this deck. ** I also have a few more decks on the way. Maybe I'll take some pictures of those too. Edited Monday at 09:59 PM by KaiNO Typo
Natural Mystic Guide Posted Wednesday at 02:04 AM Posted Wednesday at 02:04 AM I have recently returned from my trip to America. I acquired these decks: The Torah in the Tarot, a reproduction of The Jean Nosblet Tarot de Marseille by Stav Appel; a used copy of the Celtic Tarot by Kristoffer Hughes and illustrated by Chris Down; and the Alma Latina by Eugene Vinn its and Elsa Khapatnukovski.

The deck has been modified, yes. The provocative anatomy has been toned down considerably. Not only for The Hanged Man, but also for (at least) for The Lovers and The Devil. As for The Hanged Man, the illustration on the order page https://roehrigart.com/shop/kunst-shop/roehrig-tarot-karten/tarotkarten/ shows more nudity than the card I received. You can choose between English, which I chose, or German when ordering, maybe it matters...
KaiNO Posted Wednesday at 08:25 AM Posted Wednesday at 08:25 AM In other news, look at this absolute beauty that was waiting for me on my doorstep this morning! Honestly, life needs to consist of way more days like this. Deck: Tarot of the Sephiroth
