gregory Posted June 27, 2023 Posted June 27, 2023 The full 78 card Portmeirion (Trompe L'Oeil) deck. Why someone who lives at least half his time in Wales sells it through the Gamecrafter I'll never know - but their postal charges and the fact that their packages are ALWAYS targeted by UK customs has meant neither I nor anyone buying gifts for me was prepared to go for it. But it is coming to me in Canada. YAY ! At which point NOW I note that he is also selling it from Wales. Sigh !
Saffron Posted July 2, 2023 Posted July 2, 2023 I am awaiting Pagan Otherworlds plus the companion book, and the Spirit Keeper's Tarot: Revelation edition. I am sure that the SKT will be beyond my newbie understanding, and that's ok, I'll be ready to approach it one day.
Hemera Posted July 4, 2023 Posted July 4, 2023 I'm eagerly waiting for the Korean Tarot deck by Banamama https://www.banatarot.com/ I backed this in Kickstarter earlier this year and the deck is supposed to arrive in July. I ordered the deck with Korean names on the cards. I know some Korean, and I'm eager to learn card names in Korean, too. Can't wait for this beauty to arrive 😍

But right now - not a postman, but very soon I shall have my Yokai yochi, which I had to have mailed to a friend over here as they wouldn't mail to the UK.
Chariot Posted July 6, 2023 Posted July 6, 2023 (edited) Awaiting the arrival of Phillip and Stephanie Carr-Gomm's The Druid Plant Oracle Deck. It is illustrated by Will Worthington, the same person who illustrated The Druidcraft Tarot. I'm not a big oracle lover, and actually gave away the same authors' animal oracle deck, simply because I didn't use it. (I'm not a fan of oracles based on the stereotypical 'nature' of animals.) However, it was a beautifully-made and illustrated deck, and was meant to go with The Druidcraft Tarot, which is one of my favourite tarot decks to use. (Heavily modified for size....) I do love plants, however, and The Druid Plant Oracle Deck looks fantastic. I'll be interested to read the accompanying book, and to see if I can incorporate the plant significances into my readings. It does look like I'll need to do some more heavy modification (due to size,) but I don't mind doing that. Looking forward to finding out what I can do with an oracle deck. At the worst, I'll probably enjoy just looking at the pictures! At best, it might prove a helpful adjunct to my tarot skills. Edited July 6, 2023 by Chariot
2dogs Posted July 6, 2023 Posted July 6, 2023 I parted with the Druid Animal and Plant Oracle decks a few years ago but recently found the combined app for my iPad was cheap enough to have another go. They worked very well combined with the Shining Tribe Tarot in the recent Sacred Days of Midsummer readings and I’m currently using them in this month’s Reading with Oracles Circle (the reading was easy enough, the results are yet to be determined). I found the large amount of text in the guidebooks for all these decks confusing first time round but now am focusing on the bits that stand out. Using them with the Tarot deck made both easier by being able to look for common ideas.
rylla Posted July 6, 2023 Posted July 6, 2023 (edited) I've got the Dark Reflection, Fantome and the Fairy Tale tarot by lamucidesign from Slovenia. Not having to pay custom fees felt sooo good! Edited July 6, 2023 by rylla
Sartori Posted July 7, 2023 Posted July 7, 2023 I picked up a new MINCHIATE AL CIGNO (Lo Scarabeo Anima Antiqua) deck from the post office yesterday. A very neat miniature deck.
Sartori Posted July 8, 2023 Posted July 8, 2023 The deck was published in February, the declared quantity is almost 4000.
gregory Posted July 8, 2023 Posted July 8, 2023 Yes - but Anima Antiqua have a nasty habit of vanishing... Also - I made an order from LoS in April and it wasn't available at that point...

REALLY nice ...and the book that goes with it is very informative. The cards are HUGE, however ...I really can't even shuffle them. Away for the scissors and the cornering punch....borders begone....
FindYourSovereignty Posted July 9, 2023 Posted July 9, 2023 On its way to me is my Spirit Keeper’s Tarot Revelation second edition deck. Tracking says it will be here by Wednesday. 😊

Please share a before and after image of the modifications, if you can.

You will (until the Solstice) always have this warm and pleasant feeling that something special is waiting for you. Now that you have shared this with us, hopefully you will share more once you know what it is! Enjoy.
Chariot Posted July 10, 2023 Posted July 10, 2023 (edited) @FindYourSovereignty - I've modified the deck. The white border was no great loss, but I did kind of hate to remove the decorative border. However, removing both took over an inch off the width and nearly that off the length, which makes the cards MUCH easier for me to handle, and also allows for a bit more room in a 'spread,' without having to move to a larger table. I forgot to take a scan of one of the cards before I modified it, to show you what it looks like with the borders intact, but here is a photo of the original card taken from a seller's site. And here is my own scan showing the backs of the modified and unmodified card, to give you an idea of the size difference. And then a photo of the modified card. Hope this helps. They are really nice cards. Once I become totally familiar with all the pictured plants, I may take the final step and remove the bottom strip from the cards, that contains the name of the plant. I think that would look a lot better. But not just yet, although I do know most of the plants by sight. Edited July 10, 2023 by Chariot
FindYourSovereignty Posted July 11, 2023 Posted July 11, 2023 @Chariot, thank you. This is a huge difference and way better without the white borders, IMO. The original size is too big for my small hands, but it looks much smaller with your modifications. Pretty cards.

But the size difference matters as to whether I'll use the cards or just let them sit in the box, so I ruthlessly cut that away as well. I also had to do major modification on the 'parent' deck by the same artist—The Druidcraft Tarot—before I could use it. Now it is one of my four favourite decks. I do wish deck designers would take this oversized issue into account. I've had to modify SO many of them of late ...including the excellent Everyday Enchantment Tarot by Poppy Palin. Borderless cards are popular for a good reason! They are easier to handle, lack the visual distraction of borders (which is important while doing a reading), and enable larger spreads. Therese Posted July 11, 2023 Posted July 11, 2023 Today arrived a little gem: Serpent and the Peacock Tarot - Art Version. ❤️ It is the one and only Kickstarter project we supported. I got the early bird and the shipping cost was really okay, but they charged custom fees and the post thought "nice, something to take the advantage of"...... additionally. 😳 It is not something we could repeat easily, so.... BUT oh gosh it is so LOVELY. (And to be honest, every tarot lover should have experienced Kickstarter (at least) once, IMHO.)

georgebal313 Posted July 12, 2023 Posted July 12, 2023 Just in today: My KS pledge containing La Muci's "Dark Reflections" Tarot & Journal (and the Fairy Tale tarot), and a spur of the moment buy, Richard Davie's "Idle Hands Tarot"
Rachelcat Posted July 13, 2023 Posted July 13, 2023 I got Llewellyn's 2023 Tarot Catalog New Releases & Backlist in the mail today! Everything in print by Llewellyn, Lo Scarabeo, and Blue Angel (and Fournier, too, I think)! I didn't even see anything I want because I truly have everything. But I still had so much fun looking at everything and pointing out what I have and what I've had in the past! Almost as much fun as getting a new deck in the mail! Speaking of, I got my Spirit Keeper's Tarot at long last. So I'm only awaiting one thing: from Kickstarter, Feel Your Chakras Oracle.
