hermette Posted March 23, 2023 Posted March 23, 2023 I'm new to this forum so not sure that I'm writing this in the proper place but is anyone able to give advice on a pip tarot pack with Justice numbered 8?
DanielJUK Posted March 23, 2023 Posted March 23, 2023 Welcome to the forum @hermette if you would ever like to introduce yourself, you are welcome to start a thread in our introductions section here🙂  I've moved your deck query to it's own thread, it deserves it's own discussion place Â
PathWalker Posted March 23, 2023 Posted March 23, 2023 First one that springs to my mind is 1JJ Swiss, but this does unique II and V cards - Junon and Jupiter, so that may not help https://www.aeclectic.net/tarot/cards/1jj-swiss/#cards
Guest Posted March 23, 2023 Posted March 23, 2023 In general, all Marseille Tarots are pip decks that have La Justice as Arcanum VIII, right? There's been a growing number of books on the Marseille too, so I guess any TdM deck paired with a good introductory tome will do?Â
akiva Posted March 23, 2023 Posted March 23, 2023 CBD Marseille tarot by Yaov Ben-Dov is a good start. It's bright and accessible, you can even download the images off his website and print them yourself. His book is a great intro to pip decks for many too. This is based off of the conver deck.  Burdel by Lo Scarabeo  is a great deck that is available in standard and mini sizes.  The noblet (my absolute favourite) there are a few versions kicking about but Flornoy's is great. The cards can withstand a real beating too. It's around poker sized, so if you like smaller decks it's great.  Grimaud does another great one based off of the conver (like the CBD).  Honorable mentions: Squid cake Marseille Marseille cat tarot  I own neither of these so I cant speak for quality and they're probably more novelty than anything, but sometimes TdM can get a bit repetitive 😊    Â
Misterei Posted March 25, 2023 Posted March 25, 2023 Or if you don't want classic TdM and like a more modern style: Keymaster Tarot Fernando Crippa  If you like Italian historic Eduord Dotti reprint from Patrick Valenza  Dark and grotesque mood: Triunfi della Luna

I'm a fan of Valenza, although his encores on some of his decks are a bit eyebrow-raising.  Anyways if OP does decide to get this, she should take care to grab the Marseille and not the Illustrated edition since she's looking for a pip Tarot pack. I greatly prefer the latter though.

I actually was happy b/c one of the decks had extra cards that i really really wanted ... i didn't need both versions ... but I got one version JUST for the bonus House of God card which I love. It sounds pathetic saying I bought a whole deck for one card ... but sometimes this happens to me. Pavlov tarot. I got the whole deck just to have the Lovers card. Edited March 25, 2023 by Misterei

It's a blend of many different old style decks and playing cards. Available on ebay and etsy. The creator is also very responsive to questions about his deck.Â
hermette Posted March 30, 2023 Author Posted March 30, 2023 thank you everyone for your input:Â I've been using a tarot pack that I bought a while ago on the high street ..'The art of tarot' by Liz Dean but now I've got some packs to research then I can let you all know my choice.Â
