What kind if algorithm methods do you use?

Posted (edited)

My day is full of numbers, and I am happy that I find Tarot not very suitable for quantifying  anything.

OTOH, any algorithmn is suitable if it works for you.

None. Life is quite full enough of them without my adding to them.

I don't even know what an algorithmn is, much less use one.

I'm not at all good at maths, so I don't even know what an algorithm is.. Could you please explain us what do you mean?

It's the mathy thing that tells FB and amazon what interests you so that they can annoy you with targeted ads. So what using something that does the work for you by just using math has to do with divination I cannot imagine.

I used to work with algorithms. They control how certain machinery operate. Make outcomes predictable. The real world isn't guaranteed to be predictable.

algorithm- A finite set of unambiguous instructions that, given some set of initial conditions, can be performed in a prescribed sequence to achieve a certain goal and that has a recognizable set of end conditions.

@JoshF, I have several processes I use when reading a spread. One is definitely reviewing the numbers for repetition, for direction (high to low or low to high), relationship between the numbers: are any divisible? Are they mostly odd or even? Etc. I add all the numbers to determine the corresponding Major cards. One day I aim to go between the Major and the Minor this way i.e. consider the 5s of each suit when the Hierophant is on the table before me, and vice versa. I just haven’t upped my game yet to do that.

Outside of numbers, I also look at the spread as a whole for any shared symbolism or shared keywords/energy. Do most if not all the cards have water in them? Are they almost all movement cards?

I am sure there are other processes, but these are some of the tools in my toolbox.

Edit to add: Not sure if this is the type of input you were seeking, but it is how I received the subject line of your thread.

Exactly. NOTHING to do with tarot. But as the OP doesn't actually seem interested in what anyone is saying - what's the point of his multiple thread s?

I've moved this thread to tarot talk & technique, the main general discussion area.

@JoshF could we kindly request that you keep your questions about this numerology to one started thread, you are starting many and you can post many questions for help under the one topic. I could put them all in one thread if you like called something like, "mathematical numerology for tarot reading" or something.

Also please tell us about this mathematical method for divination, how does it work for you?

This sort of thing is like trying to nail jello to the wall.  It just seems so out of character to try to use Tarot in the way it seems you want to use in the topics you've posted. It sounds as if you're trying to figure out how to use it to pick winning lottery numbers or something like that.

In another thread I've mentioned about the two sides of the brain and the different ways they work.  The right side of the brain communicates in images, ideas, the ethereal, while the left side deals in facts, numbers, and such solid, practical things.  They don't work the same way.  In using Tarot in the way I think you mean, you'd be trying to use the right brain to accomplish what the left brain is there to do or vice versa.  It isn't suited to it and wouldn't work well at all.
