Do you guys have a habit of exploring the meaning of dreams with tarot? (here I come again with my questions 😜)

I usually ask about what a certain dream wants to tell me and I have had great experiences.
My question this time will be more specific and involves a spiritual belief: if you believe in astral travel, how do you differentiate - with tarot - imaginative dreams (fruits of your desire) from those involving astral experiences?

When I ask the cards about the nature of a dream and am given arcana like the Magician (magic power, "as well as below, above"), the Chariot/just like knights (vehicles, transport, displacement), Temperance (wings, power of flight, exchange) and the Moon (mysteries of the subconscious, of the invisible planes), I suspect a true experience. Encounters and experiences that take place in another dimension. But that's pretty specific for a 78-card deck, isn't it? When cups come out, I'm in doubt. Was it a figment of imagination? the strength of emotions? from the depths of the subconscious ocean? or their deep interconnectedness and spirituality? Wands would perhaps indicate to me the mechanism for satisfying repressed desires. Swords over a dream influenced by one's own psychic processes. Pentacles... I don't know. Still, it's pretty specific. If I suspected astral travel and removed the ace of wands, with its famous "like", for me it would be confirmation.

Well... this is a frequent topic on my table and I would love to have more basis for this discussion. what do you think?

Hi @Yola, I saw your post a while ago and I found it really interesting, I'm sorry I'm only managing to respond to it now!

So although I have never (to my knowledge) astral travelled in my dreams, I do tend to 'go far', meaning I often have dreams that seem very far removed from my life and who I am. I do have dreams that I know are of different types, owing to the feeling and atmosphere that I get when I'm having them. I have also had a couple of dreams in which I believe I caught glimpses of past lives.

I tend to wait for a dream that contains a clear cut archetypal symbol in it, in terms of asking the tarot. I heard that these symbols can be quite significant signposts for us, and these are what I focus on in this capacity, so that I can gain an understanding of where I might be being guided. Hopefully that makes sense! My dreams can otherwise be quite long and rambling 😅 which can be fun, but doesn't give me anything particularly clear to pay attention to!

So this doesn't really answer your question about astral travelling I'm afraid, but I'm super interested in dreams and I'll let you know of any patterns that start to appear for me when I ask the tarot about them.
