Hi I’m new

Hi I’m new here. I haven’t read a lot into tarot, but seem to pull the same cards and have recently pulled 4 cards with consecutive numbers which made me curious if this was normal!

Welcome, Becca.  This is a wonderful place to deepen your understanding of Tarot and to make new friends who share your interest.

 

Regarding pulling the same cards and pulling cards in a sequence:  these things are normal in that they are abnormal enough to pull your attention and ask of your unconscious (God/dess, Guides, whomever...)  what can this possibly mean.  As you work more and more with Tarot cards you will experience many of these types of things and develop your own personal meanings for them.  You are developing your intuition.

 

If the same card keeps re-appearing (unless it is because you keep asking the same question over and over -- that's a whole different story) it means -- hey, pay attention to me.  I have a special meaning for you.  Read whatever documentation that you have for that particular card.  Meditate on the card image.  See what comes to you.

 

If you draw a sequence, then do the same thing.  Study the documentation for each of the cards and meditate upon them.  What could this mean for you.  Does it refer to the development and forward movement of a particular project or relationship in your life?  Life is a great mystery.  Tarot helps us to plumb that mystery.  Have fun playing with the cards and may you come to know better and better who you are and what makes you happy, Becca.

Thank you Daniel & Joy 😊 Natural Mystic Guide, thank you for your insight and helpful guidance on this. I will keep this in mind. I have noticed some same cards keep on reappearing so will pay more attention to this.

BUT ALSO: A long time ago, a certain major company that prints decks used awful cutters to cut their decks. I remember there were a few posts about it in Aeclectic TF, but basically the pentacles suit would be cut bigger than the rest. It was amazing those even got through quality control tbh. I had one that was sticking out a good half cm. My point is, make sure they're cut right. And maybe consider changing how you pull the cards. Because of my experience, I don't take them off the top and I don't let them jump out. I rather choose them.

I like the 'jumpers'.  (I haven't had the same experience with them as you -- with jumping being caused by irregular card sizes.)  When I card jumps out I carefully consider that it may have something special to say.  It doesn't happen often.  When it does, I pay attention.

Hi Hydra and Natural Mystic Guide, thank you for your guidance. The cards are cut well. I shuffle the cards in my hands and feel which cards to pull out. Sometimes they are in top, sometimes I feel one poking out a little, sometimes I know where to search. I pull the cards which I am drawn to and it seems to work pretty well, but not sure how you can tell for sure!
