Hi, I'm Parker! I've been getting into tarot for the past month or so and I'm really excited to find somewhere to talk about it!! I don't have any decks yet (waiting for one to be shipped to me right now) but I've been doing digital readings and it's already really helping me understand my feelings and surroundings. Plus I'm a sucker for pretty art and so many decks are absolutely gorgeous lol. Thanks for stopping by, I really look forward to getting to know people around here! 😄

My first deck hasn't even arrived and I'm already thinking about getting more, there's so many really cool options haha, it was hard to have the impulse control to only pick one to start off with. Definitely will be getting more in the future though

Which deck are you getting? Be warned as you love art, Tarot decks can be dangerous and addictive 😝

I don't think I can share links yet but it's from MysticalUniverseLV on etsy, they only sell a few decks but they're all super pretty, I chose the dark purple and gold one. Couldn't tell you why but I was really drawn to them

 

Definitely seems to be going that way Hydra lol I've got a list or two of decks I might buy in the future

✨💖✨  Thanks for the exposure to a deck that I was not familiar with, @24seasons.  I checked the deck out on etsy and I agree that it is really beautiful and I love the color that you selected.  I understand that you are beginning your Tarot journey.  In addition to playing with this deck once it arrives, are you also considering ordering a deck that is an RWS clone?  There are tons of them out there, so it should be easy to find one that you are drawn to.  You might find it helpful to have illustrated pips, Minor Arcana cards, to work with as you become familiar with meanings of the different cards.  I know that I was pretty overwhelmed when I first started.  Wishing you lots of luck and enjoyment with your new deck. 💖✨💖

@Natural Mystic Guide They really are pretty! While I wait I've been using the labyrinthos app for readings and learning the cards and they've made a few RWS based decks you can use, I was tempted to buy one of those too (my fav is the golden thread tarot) but the shipping costs to where I live are absolutely brutal and I'm not ready to spend that much on one deck, at least not yet lol. Once I've had a bit of time with my first deck I'll properly look into buying another, I don't wanna spend too much at once haha. Thank you for the well wishes!

✨🌘✨  I might have you beat on that @24seasons.  I live in Bali, Indonesia.  So not only are the shipping costs outrageous, but sometimes an item of this nature (that some might consider witchy) could get intercepted and confiscated.  My wonderful host country is the largest Muslim country in the world and our leaders in their great wisdom want to maintain a high standard of purity and goodness.  And then there is customs on top of all that.  So my strategy is to wait until a friend or acquaintance is coming to Bali.  I get them to use the cards so that they are not new anymore and so not susceptible to a customs charge.  Then they act as my mule and bring them to me.  So it can be a long wait.  Right now, I am waiting for five decks and 1 book.  Are there no decks available where you live?  There are some here.  I already have a large collection of decks, so I'm only looking for pretty uncommon decks that would not be commonly available.  Best wishes on finding a good way to get decks.  In the meantime it sounds like you have a great strategy going to work with the app. ✨🌘✨

@Natural Mystic Guide Oh gosh that sounds like it can be really frustrating, I don't know if I could handle waits like that! At least you can get the decks eventually even if there is some hassle. I'm in the UK so being actually unable to ship things to me is rarely an issue, the costs to do it can just be a lot haha. Thankfully I have found some UK-based tarot sites with much more affordable shipping and at some point I'd like to look in some physical stores too, so I've got a couple options!
