Hello, I'm Lara from Australia. New to tarot, and enjoying the study. 🙂

I have purchased a couple of decks and have begun my journey. I'm interested in tarot for psychological reasons, for therapeutic reasons, and in the hopes of bringing back some balance to my life by rekindling my creative side.

Looking forward to learning more. 🙂

Hi Lara, I'm sure you'll learn a lot here! If you're interested in the psychological side of tarot, I can recommend Arthur Rosengarten's book Spectrums of Possibility. It has been some time since I read it but I remember it's very interesting. He's a Jungian, and Jungian psychology it not everybody's cup of tea but even if it's not yours, you'll still find a lot to learn from the book.

There is no doubt that working with the tarot is creative, and I wish you much pleasure, insight and fun on the journey.

Welcome to the community @Saffron 😀:animated-smileys-signs-085::78496:. Welcome from Australia!

Of course, everyone has their own way of using tarot and many people use it that way. Adding to @Nemia's suggestion, someone once recommended Dr Robert Wang's 'Tarot Psychology' book to me. I went through a very Jungian phase of life at one point. Wang has a trilogy of books about using the cards in a Jungian way and that is the first book. He also made the Jungian Tarot deck if you are really into that style and those archetypes.

Also the books where you work through the tarot with your life might be helpful. Mary Greer has a book called "Tarot for Your Self", it describes itself as a workbook for personal transformation. You are discovering yourself with the cards! Also Seventy-Eight Degrees of Wisdom by Rachel Pollack, this one you learn about the card origins but also self-awareness.
