Hello everyone! I'm Destiny and it's nice to meet you all! I'm a naturally intuitive tarot reader from New Orleans, Louisiana. With the lifestyle of moving every so often for my husband's job, I find myself wishing for a consistent place to connect with others who have similar interests. I am so glad to have found Tarot, Tea and Me and I am looking forward to getting to know the community here!

Hello @DestinyLunaire and welcome to this nice Tarot community that will remain as a resource and support no matter where you find yourself!  I have a personal question.  When I made my big 'permanent' move from the U.S. to Bali 6 years ago, I had to distill all of my belongings into a couple of bins and two suitcases.  I'm curious as to how many Tarot decks travel with you.  Most of the stuff that I chose to keep and bring with me was my entire collection of Tarot and oracles decks (over 50 at that point); some books ( I considerably reduced my library); and ritual items.  How about you?

Thank you so much! Bali!? What a beautiful place to live. How are you liking it now and was it an easy transition for you in the beginning? 🌴 That sounds like a beautiful collection or tarot an oracle decks! Is your collection a specific theme that resonates with you or a wide variety of themes? I have twelve decks that I've brought here with me and they're mostly celestial themed. Before I left I gave several decks to my friends back home to travel a bit lighter. My husbands job allowed us to ship a specific weight of items by boat which arrived 3-4 months after our move. Before doing this I had no idea what our items weighed all combined so we went through a massive decluttering and we ended up being significantly under the limit. I am so glad that we sorted, donated, and tossed things before we came because it made the process much easier! In a few months we'll be leaving to go someplace new, fingers-crossed the plans will be finalized before next week for where we're actually going. I am so glad TT&M has a deck swap/sell area, I will be looking to rehome some decks there soon! ♥️

My decks are chosen with these criteria:  Aesthetics.  No. 1.  If I don’t like the colors and the art, I don’t even consider it.  No. 2:  I prefer whole traditional Tarot deck and decks that had their structure radically altered.  No. 3:  I’m looking for deck that represent all people:  multi-cultural; multi-ethnic; all ages; all sexual orientations; normal looking people not perfect people.  I’m really looking for beauty (subjective, I know).

Moving to another country involves so much learning and so much patience- even after years! I completely agree 😁 I remember in the beginning not knowing where to find random but necessary items, like a vegetable peeler or an umbrella!

I also must have deck artwork with colors that speak to me. I can't seem to resonate with the cards otherwise. Representation is such an important one too, everyone is beautiful and I love decks that showcase that. I just purchased the Etheral Visions: Luna Edition deck for this very reason! ♥️
