Rachel Pollack’s method for making your own spreads

This is a lovely video from seven years ago, where Rachel showed her technique for making spreads. She used the querents own words and created spread positions based on that. She also showed an example reading based on a fictional client.

❤️ We miss you, Rachel! ❤️

I thought this fitted perfectly in the Tarot Spreads area as a reference so moved it over there.

Thanks for posting it @Raggydoll 🥰 Gonna watch it with more time later

What an interesting video.

I have only had a professional reader read for me once, many years ago in the late 90s (it was at an event that featured card readers) and, looking back on it, I'm sure Rachel's method, as demonstrated here, is the method that woman used.

She had me sit facing her, but there was a bit of a barrier on the table (I seem to recall it was a wooden rack of some kind), and the cards were put down so I couldn't really see them.  She kept asking me questions and pulling a card or two as I answered them, or volunteered information.  Looking back on it, I would LOVE to have actually seen what she was doing.  But Rachel's method seems very much like what this woman was doing.  She didn't set up a spread, she just kept reading cards as she pulled them from the deck ...although if memory serves me right, she did keep hand to hand shuffling while we were speaking.  She didn't do a huge shuffle before we got started.

What she told me though, was stunningly accurate—the stuff I already knew and a lot of stuff I didn't know at the time—and it all came to pass as she forecast ...even down to the time frame.  Every single thing. I was totally impressed.  I still am.
