To those who have used predictive Tarot applications/software, how accurate did you find them?

I have used them quite a bit though I use a real deck as well, mostly Tabula Mundi at the moment.  I voted 50/50.  Sometimes they are very helpful and sometimes I just shake my head.  Most of the Fool’s Dog apps that I own, I already had the real deck and familiar with it.

I use the Golden Thread Tarot app, and generally it gives good insights, although I would say 1/4 times I come away scratching my head.

I think apps are good for ensuring random draws, but I find it harder to connect with the deck when I'm not using a physical edition so I think that's why.

An app can randomize images as well as my shuffle.

I voted "almost always", but there's a caveat there - the apps I use are decks I'm familiar with and read IRL. For a deck that you don't know, the app is only as good as the text and the text can be totally BORKED. Sturgeon's Law definitely applies here.  ;)

I have several apps, and have found them to be useful. I do find them fairly accurate - the Lenormand, in particular! (and so useful to have it to hand, to quickly do a two card draw!) I get mine from Fool's Dog apps. I must say, I do agree that it might be best to have the decks in app form that you already own and are familiar with - it does help in the reading.

I think the thing that makes it different is the feeling of shuffling, physically. Shuffling puts one in a meditative state, calmed and ready and open to answers and wisdom; whereas just the app-engendered shuffling sound is not at all the same. It doesn't really prepare your mind and psyche the way real shuffling does. It probably also has to do with the images, the lighting, the fact that you are doing it online, etc. It has been well studied, and people who are excessively inside phones and laptop and tablets have minds that cannot focus well, or concentrate easily. Focus and concentration really help a reading to be good and accurate. It is we who are at fault, not the cards! (or apps!)

The Bohemian Gothic looks mesmerizing backlit on my phone, even nicer than the cards.

Never mind "focus", I can fall into them!

Among the apps that I currently have in my smartphone, I use this one the most often since I find it pretty accurate. I especially like its My Mirror (or daily draw) function, tho I've disabled its push notification.
