A newbie on a spiritual journey

Hello! You can call me River.

 

I have been researching various spiritual practices off and on for the past five-ish years now, and I've only just decided to actually start doing some of the stuff that I've been feeling called to do. It figured it would be good to join a community that can help with any questions I have. That being said, I'm definitely going to be looking for recommendations for decks to get started with as well as any resources anyone knows of that really helped them on the start of their own journeys.

Thank you so much for the warm welcome! I've been trying to find some sort of post or thread to use as a "start here" or FAQ, but so far I haven't found one (though I could just be looking right at it and missing it, apologies if I am!). Am I missing anything, or do you have any recommendations for where to start on this forum specifically? Just looking for what I can be reading up on until I hit that five-post minimum to ask my own questions.

Sometime I will make a FAQ help page, but it will be a long process but on my list of things to make 😀. For now, please ask about anything you need help with. The members are very friendly and forum staff will always respond to anything.

 

I think the best way to get to 5 posts is to reply to posts here and / or write on other introduction posts to welcome others or join in conversation. When you get to 5 posts, there are no posting restrictions and you can access the readings and exchange areas.

 

As a starting point, go to whatever areas of the forum that most interest you. Please start new discussions of any questions or things you want to discuss. Also in this forum you are welcome to post in any old discussions and make them active again. Enjoy the place!

Since I don't have enough posts yet, I'll put this here for anyone who happens to be wandering by: have you noticed if there is a particular time of day that works best for you to do your readings? I've tried pulling cards for my day in the morning to get insight for my day, and I've also tried doing spreads at night when I can light candles and really get in the mood. Although, sometimes I feel more focused in the mornings. Anyway, if anyone happens by, let me know if you have a particular time of day that you prefer, especially if it's something different that I may not have thought about. Thanks!
