Guest Posted September 29, 2023 Posted September 29, 2023 Hi. I am interested in Reading and Learning Tarot. I find it fascinating and have enjoyed receiving Tarot for the most of my life, and now I enjoy even more so being able give someone else every now and then a perception of what I can make from the cards also. Although I realise that this will be a bit down the near track. Finding a place for me and my level of skill. I mainly read my own cards and occasionally have an opportunity to read for another. Although I like that this is intended as 'public forum' and feedback as well. I actually don't meet too many people in general, so I have been looking for a Community which is ideal for me. Where I can meet some like minded people and nice people that I can relax around a little bit. And a place where I can grow with my confidence too. So I am just finding my way around on here. And trying to learn the do's and don'ts. So today I have started my first post, as an introduction. It's lovely to meet you, and thank you for reading this first post. And hopefully there will be more to follow. I hope that everyone will be patient with me, and I hope that I put the posts in the right place. I have gone over the rules, but I 'tend not to be very good with forms' and regulations, so I hope that I put everything in the correct place. I look forward to speaking with you in the hopeful near future. Love and Light xo
Guest Posted September 29, 2023 Posted September 29, 2023 Hi Raggy doll. Thank you for your welcome. Although I havn't yet looked at your profile I see that you have been a part of Tarot and Tea for quite some time. I see that you are a 'supporter' and I am looking forward to browsing around a little more and get a feel for this forum, which is something that 'really is' very new for me. I am trying to put another post together, but when I looked for a place for the writing, I didn't find a suitable place for it. And I'm not sure if all of the posts have a 300 word limit. So maybe I will go back and re-read, re-write, and reconsider some of it. But in the mean time, thank you for making me feel welcome. And hello to you to. It's lovely to meet you.
Arania Posted September 29, 2023 Posted September 29, 2023 Welcome! Lots of resources here for everyone.
DanielJUK Posted September 29, 2023 Posted September 29, 2023 Welcome to the community @Expressions If you like tarot and also tea, you are in the right place! 😃 You are doing great so far, you have done nothing wrong and we are a warm and friendly community and someone will always help You can always contact or ask for help in a thread from any of us, the forum staff. When you get to 5 posts, you get more freedom in the forum. It's to stop spammers 🙂 . So reply to your intro thread here and if you post in other threads as well and you will soon get there. After 5 posts you can post links and attach images and there are no word limits and also you can tag peoples names. Also you can then see our reading and exchange sections. They are over 5 posts to have privacy for people posting in them. You can request a reading in an ongoing exchange or offer them. We always require feedback for readings, to help people learn which is our aim as a community. You can also post a reading to get an opinion or help with, please follow the guidelines of that area (under Personal Tarot Readings). Finally we have monthly tarot reading circles where you are randomly assigned another forum member and you read together and give feedback. It's fun and great for learning. There are different types of circles, they always launch for the month in the first week of the new month. When you join here, it is a bit scary but you will soon work out how the forum layout works and we can move stuff if you do anything wrong. Supporters are members who kindly help keep the community going with costs. They can always edit their posts (usually you can edit for 60 mins after posting) and get an unlimited inbox for PMs. Also they get an area for off-topic discussions, trading decks and a monthly competition to win decks. You don't need to be a supporter to post in the tarot discussions, it's something extra and you will get a lot more freedom after getting to 5 posts. You do need to be a supporter if you want to promote a tarot business, deck or link something personal. Do ask if you want to do something or need any help, enjoy the place! 😊 What did you want to post about with your writing? You might want to wait till you have 5 posts and you can post what you want in full. Also when you are at 5 posts, you can start a blog (public space) or a journal (private space for members only) and you can write about your readings and post whatever you want there 😉
Guest Posted September 29, 2023 Posted September 29, 2023 Thank you Arania for your welcome. I've been looking for somewhere to be able to express my Tarot interest, (for learning and growth) without jumping into the deep end. Because I would find corporate readings very intimidating for me to do. And I've put up add's in notice boards, searched online, and after quite a few attempts I have finally found this forum. So yes, I definately have to have a look around as I get the feeling that I will learn much while I am here. Thank you for your welcome and gesture about the resources that are available on here
Guest Posted September 29, 2023 Posted September 29, 2023 Thank you Daniel for your thorough words. The post I intended to write is just small, just over 300 words, but when I re-read it back it is quite mixed in content, so will need to be reviewed or re-worded anyway. I feel that this is a great opportunity to 'lighten myself up' a little bit. As much of my previous life can be seen as being quite heavy in some areas and regard. But I have different areas for different topics, speech and thoughts. So, in a sense this forum seems to present a great opportunity to 'lighten up' a little bit. And the reason, because I have so much pleasure and enjoyment from Tarot and spirituality that this seems like the place for me to try to stay with this theme. I may shorten the other write up. I was going to make a post, because I didn't understand what a post was. I thought they needed to be proper writings. None the less, I might re-word it a little bit, perhaps today or tomorrow, and add this as a theme for my introduction. But none the less, you are right, 'it's always a bit scary' being in a new place. But thank you so much for your thorough details, and I will look to re-read your post again, and possibly more over time again too
Guest Posted September 29, 2023 Posted September 29, 2023 I love the idea of World Peace. I believe that this will find it's turn when we find peace within ourselves first. I am new on Tarot, Tea and me. I have skimmed through the rules although tomorrow I will try to have another more through look. This is the first forum that I have been a part of. I was on a tiling forum long ago, but I'm not quite sure what happened with that. As my question of many got answered elsewhere. I don't even know if I registered correctly. Hopefully I have registered correctly on here. I have just put up an 'introduction'. Just short words as my first introduction was almost 600 words, I landed up writing a fresh one from the start. I see that it is advised not to be Political. Which is a funny thing for me to talk about, because 'I am essentially 'not' a Political person, but had grown with some Political views in the latter years, and still not in an even near complete of understanding. Certainly at a level that many other people would have an awareness of. But it seems that to talk about Peace and Love is something that I am happy to do. Although with regard that our lives are not always simply about Peace and Love. But as 'a whole'. Life is so broad and so individual are our opinions and views, yet similar in so many ways also. I like to look for the subtlies of approach's, I believe that Tarot leads a good example of a place of community, where I might be able to share some common ground with some people of like minds. For some time I used to go to Spiritualist Church's also I used to chant with the Krishna's.
Mort Posted September 29, 2023 Posted September 29, 2023 pleased to meet you! im new here too, i hope we can learn lots!!😄
DanielJUK Posted September 29, 2023 Posted September 29, 2023 @Expressions do use the search for the forum at the top. It's very powerful and useful. Some forum communities do not allow old discussions to be posted in after some time but we welcome posting in any discussion. You are welcome to start new discussions for anything you want or to ask a question about tarot. You can see all the sections by looking on the forums option. We have a spirituality section as well if you want to see the discussions there. We had to bring in a rule about no political discussion. A number of countries have had elections in recent years that are very divisive. Members would innocently post readings about the elections or have discussions about it but it would always end in angry arguing. So that is why we brought it in. So people can discuss politics and read on it outside the forum and we can have a peace from it here 🙂
joy Posted September 29, 2023 Posted September 29, 2023 Hello @Expressions welcome to the TT&M Family
Nemia Posted September 29, 2023 Posted September 29, 2023 Dear @Expressions, welcome. You won't find a nicer place on the Internet and more knowledgeable and wise people. It's a great learning platform and wherever you are on your tarot journey, you can feel accepted and you can contribute something valuable. I don't meet any tarot people IRL, and I'm so glad I have this place. A very good tool for improving your confidence in your tarot skills is a journal, and you can write one on this platform and get feedback. For me, writing has been one of the main ways of not only learning but also retaining knowledge. Have fun! Tarot is enjoyable on so many levels, and finding a tarot-minded community is one of them.
