Back to tarot after 17 years

Hello, all! I am new to the forum and new to this internet world of tarot. I started practicing in my late teens almost two decades ago, when we mostly learnt with family or by second hand books. There were good blogs here and there but not today's scene of YouTube and (I hear) TikTok channels. Anyway, I came back to this amazing world after a calling that I have been avoiding for the last year. I was never a skeptic, but avoided Tarot for many years due to many pseudo-religious superstitions that made me believe this was a forbidden fruit. Anyway, I am back after an appointment with a good tarot reader and it was such an amazing experience, it was almost like I was doing the reading myself, reminding all that I had learnt and tried to let go because it just wasn't the right time in the past. Now I have resumed my studies with de Marseilles because I prefer more abstract depictions. In a difficult moment two years ago I opened the door to divination again using a playing cards deck and it resonated so much that I decided to buy my first TdM in years (the others went to garbage). 17 years ago I used to practice with RWS and also learnt to play using the Lenormand method, which I still use with a regular playing cards deck today. I felt drawn to the Prisma Vision tarot deck and other of their sort. Well, I hope we have a nice time. ReineTdM12

Welcome to the community @ReineTdM12 😀 I'm glad you came back to tarot after an excellent reading! I also found tarot again later in my life, perhaps you only need it at times and don't at others

Superstitions about tarot affect many and are cultural / religious. I think though they are mostly based on myths. We do have to feel comfortable using and handling them but also in these times they are very popular again!
