The Page of Swords Reversed as a Positive?

In various situations (so, not the same one), I have had the page of swords reversed, but in a context that can only be positive (as in, the question was a positive one, as were the clarifying cards, etc.). I know that this generally is a negative card in the reverse, so does anyone else have experience with this, and what did it mean in a positive sense?

Hi @Moonlight-begonia, according to our forum rules you need first to provide your own interpretation of this card. Thank you.

Thanks, I suppose if I get the page of swords reversed I wonder if it means a new way of communicating something?

@Moonlight-begonia

I don't think so, for that meaning I would expect to get the Ace of Swords. The Page of Swords is rather learning how to communicate and well, when you're learning something new, you may make mistakes at the beginning. You said you got this card reversed in a "positive" context, so maybe the focus is on learning despite possible misunderstandings. Without knowing the exact context though I can only guess.

That’s fascinating, thank you so much. I think you hit the nail on the head there actually, and you are correct, I didn’t think about the fact that the Ace of Swords would be the one to communicate that, thank you so much. My interpretation didn’t really resonate too much for me but I just wasn’t sure what to think! 🙂

This is going to sound silly, but lately I've had several Swords cards turn up to literally mean 'cutting' something.  I had the Ace of Swords upright indicate my tree surgery appointment was coming up.  (It was—although I didn't know it when I did an outlook reading for that week.)  I recently had the Knight of Swords reversed (Knight=Action + Not Cutting) predict that my husband would not require cancer surgery after all.   He didn't—got an all-clear after a bit of a scare.

So, I suppose, since Pages can be messages or learning experiences as well as people or personalities, a Page of Swords reversed could mean a message that something isn't going to get cut after all?  (Maybe you were expecting your job to be cut, but you will get a message that it's safe?  Etc.)  I can see this being good news.

Obviously everything depends on the surrounding cards and the question asked. But sometimes cards can be more literal that we like to think of them.  People can get The Chariot reversed if their car breaks down, etc.  Not everything predicted by tarot is a huge deal—or life or death—and sometimes the predictions can be more mundane than the dramatic cards indicate.  Mundane ...but accurate!

I love your answers Chariot! That’s really interesting for sure. Also I’m glad to hear that your husband got the all clear.

Im really new to tarot card reading so this presents a really different insight for me that will surely bring wisdom.

It really depends on what the question was and the position name.  For instance;

How can I best present myself for this job so I'll have the best chance to be hired?

In Sweet Thursday by Steinbeck, the character Fauna says to the character Suzy "Don't pretend to be something you ain't, and don't make like you know something you don't, or sooner or later you'll sure fall on your ass."  So this little Page is just at the start of his job and he's still learning how to use the sword and comport himself properly and do what he's supposed to, AS he's supposed to do it but he's still clumsy and not perfect.

So the answer would be a positive because it's telling you that you're going to put your best foot forward if you just be yourself, be honest, accept your limitations, show respect and an earnestness to work hard and strive to grow.

Hey @November thank you for pointing out our rules. However this particular rule only applies if someone asks for help with a personal reading, but not with general questions. 🤗

The Page of Swords (upright) is so enthusiastic and wants to talk, discuss and argue, They want to give their views or expel their energy in things like sports. But they are immature and so they make mistakes. Maybe they gossip or spread rumours and false news. This is someone who accidentally tells someone a secret and then instantly regrets opening their mouth 😮 . You can't really trust them and their flaw as a Page is they need to think about the long-term consequences of an action or what they say.

A positive of the reversed card is this enthusiasm slows down, so perhaps they don't make mistakes in what they are saying or doing. This is not because they are more mature with their Swords (they are not the Queen or King) but it's largely accidental. It's like they just avoided making a big verbal mistake! This could also be deliberate, they delay things to fully think things through. This reversed Page is also someone who is all talk and no action, so if there are threats or horrible news, it's probably not actually going to manifest. There is also better preparation with this card than the upright.
