Shuffles and reversals.. Am I doing it correctly?

Hi all

 

I see that there's many techniques and ways to shuffle. This is how I do it, it's worked for me, but I just want to check what you think - if thats okay.

I shuffle, I get a feeling of energy.
I then pass my cards to the person I'm reading for. 

They shuffle and spread cards out like a fan. They then pick by running their hand over.

 

Does this sound okay? I was reading that I should pick the cards for them.

 

Also, the reverse cards are reverse to the person, not me. If they pick out the sun card reversed, i dont turn it round and make it upright.  I saw someone do this the other day and thought it wasn't right.

If it works and if you like it, then keep doing what you’ve been doing! If anyone says that you should or that you must do a specific thing in regards to tarot, take that with a pinch of salt. Different approaches work for different people, we need to honor that. 
 

I don’t often read for people when they are physically present, but when I do, we often sit on the same side of the table. This works for me and I like that there is no difficulty to figure out whether a card is upright or not. But I think most readers probably sit across from their clients and that’s fine too. Like I said, do what works and what you like 🙂

The wonderful part of tarot and divination is finding your own method and rituals that work for you! We probably all shuffle differently 🙂

If it feels right to, it IS right for you. Tarot cards are tools. Everybody holds and uses their tools a bit differently. The people who write the rules don't know what's right for you.

I do this also.  It just makes it easier for us to be looking at the same cards with the same orientation.

I find that consistency is the most important thing.  You can experiment to find what feels most natural and comfortable to you.  Once you find it, then stick to it (unless you want to pick a new way to consistently shuffle.)  I'm always working with my Guidance Team and when I am consistent in my approach to things I think that it makes it easier for them to work with me.
