Another recent arrival.

Greetings everyone.

 

Daniel invited me to introduce myself. (Thank you.) I’ve been hanging back a bit until I better understand the procedures and geography. Today I almost responded to a post from 2019 but wondered if it was acceptable etiquette to show up for a party five years late.

 

Getting to the point: I’m here because I need to be around people who speak this language. I’ve revealed my interests to family and friends, but I need this specialized community for the ideas I’d like to bat around, and to participate modestly in those put forth by others. My fingers tend to write too much once they get started, so I’ll leave it at that.

@Zig, hello and welcome! I am afraid I respond to old posts quite a lot, but probably there's nothing wrong with that, the forum is like a tree with lots of branches, growing in the most intricate way.

Welcome to the community @Zig 😀 Cool name, glad you have found us here and introducing all about yourself

 

In many communities online and forums, writing on old threads was not allowed. This was often called "necroposting" online (bringing a dead thread back to life 😉). But continuing the convention from our Mother forum Aeclectic, which closed down and was archived, posting on old threads is fine! If a thread is not for posting on anymore, it is closed and won't let you post on it! All other threads are fine. We welcome posting on old discussions or beginning new ones. We are happy either way 😊

Thank you for your friendly responses and explanations. I've seen a couple of references to an earlier forum which must be the Aeclectic mentioned above. I get the feeling there is tale of intrigue worthy of a mini-series, but let me just say I'm glad you got back up again. Everything here seems to be run with kindness and efficiency so my congratulations to those who manage it all.

 

I've got a lot of exploring to do and will post a comment from time to time while I plod through to assure myself I'm not lurking.
