Albadawn Posted January 25, 2018 Posted January 25, 2018 Has anybody else attempted this? I'm very slowly working through this deck. The card stock is actually quite good, about the same thickness as LS decks, maybe a little thicker. The cards are a bit square-er than usual tarot cards, more of an oracle deck shape. I'm using colour schemes for the minor cards, but the majors I will colour probably more like RWS, as I suspect the colour choices were quite intentional. I'm using coloured pencils, but I think with a very light hand this card stock would possibly handle watercolour too. So far I've completed seven cards - the Pages, and three of the Tens. I'm studying each card in the order presented in 'Around the Tarot in 78 Days' by Marcus Katz and Tali Goodwin. It's quite illuminating, although I wish I was getting through the cards a bit quicker. I really only colour when the mood strikes, I ought to be more committed! I'd love to know if anyone else has done this. How far through are you? If you've finished, do you enjoy reading with them? :D
EmpyreanKnight Posted January 25, 2018 Posted January 25, 2018 This reminds me of the BOTA deck, Dawn. The Builders of the Adytum is a Western mystery school that's an offshoot of the Golden Dawn. The latter encourages their adherents to create their own Tarot decks. Presently, the BOTA sells sets of decks, both complete and majors-only, that members should color for themselves according to a prescribed palette. This is meant not only to bond you with your deck, but so that you'd have a more intimate grasp of metaphysical color theory. They're quite affordable. I really should get myself some copies of these decks - one to keep and one to color. :)
