Hi everyone!

Does anyone here owns/uses/had used The Dreams of Gaia Tarot by Ravynne Phelan? What is your opinion on it?

I really love Phelan’s art, and recently I came across this deck. I find the art gorgeous, but for some reason I’m not really feeling it when trying to use it for readings.

I don’t wanna give up on it just yet so I figured other people’s views and experiences might help me envision different aspects of this deck.

Thank you~

I have it - and as you say the art is lovely. But the cards don't say tarot to me, not at all. That said - I wouldn't get rid of it - if I ever considered such a thing  for a while - it may speak in the end. Loads of people have put a deck away for a while and when they took it out again found it felt quite different.

Yes, that might be it! I think this deck feels too much like an oracle, perhaps I should consider it that way. :thinkingEmoji:

The art is gorgeous and overall quality of the set is impressive (Blue Angel stuff usually is!). Also, the book is VERY detailed, each card gets a very thorough explanation.

@gregory did you ever try to read with it? Or it is more of an “art deck” to you?

I haven't; I will get to it - I do try to read at least once with everything I get, but somehow it hasn't happened yet.

Unsurprisingly (to me), what @gregory said. I haven't tried to read with it yet, but only because I realize that I need to study it first because it's its own system of tarot, and not one that I'm already familiar with. I have decks I can just use right out of the box, and decks that require study first. This deck is one of the latter. And it has been added to my ever-growing list of decks that need to be studied first. I believe that everything happens at a particular time for a particular reason. When the time is right, that deck will call to me, and I will begin my deep dive into it. Until then it sits quietly on the shelf biding its time...
