Hi all, I am looking forward to learning and participating in the group.

A little about myself

I'm a man of nature, haunter of the woodlands. Ispend lots of time outdoors, camping, cooking, using plants for many different purposes, including medicines

I'm based in Carmarthen I live with my wife Bangu and Dog, Merlin.

We live close to Merlin's Hill Fort, and I am obsessed with Myrddin Wyllt and his legends.

I'm not one for the whole candles and spells moonlight ritual sort of witchcraft.

But I do have my Deities, who I talk to and ask for their assistance, and I do thank every plant and tree (as they each have a spirit/lifeforce) for everything they give to help me, whether it be the bark of willow for cordage, or the ribwort plantain for salve or a wound dressing.

I believe everything is connected through the intricate web of Nature and all life is a balance, with which a tip of the scales affects all others.

I live to forage for food and make herbal remedies.

Hope I can impart some wisdom, but more than anything looking to learn more than the knowledge I currently have.

Blessings to one and all

I joined this community recently, too, @SilasW, so I'm not sure, if I'm the most suitable one to welcome you, but I adore Welsh history, so I'm glad, that you are here. May you find the forum informative.

During my teenage years, after having already devoured Old Norse and Græco-Roman mythology, I coincidentally found a Swedish translation of The Mabinogion in our public library, and that random event still has an effect on me. There is a certain dreamlike, visionary quality of beauty, which set the tales in The Mabinogion apart from its classical and Norse neighbours, and another paperback edition now stands on my shelf between the Elder Edda and Apollodorus.  I haven't been able to afford a journey to Wales (The Eisteddfod would be nice to visit), but I spent some time as an exchange student in your eastern neighbouring country (the Sassenach, as the Scots would say) a long time ago. I know, that, from the time of Sir John Morris-Jones, Iolo Morganwg acquired a tarnished reputation, but I appreciate the old 18th century eccentric: He was a poet in his own right, and he had a very vivid imagination. I'm also fascinated by the life of Dr. William Price, the pioneer of cremation in UK.
