MalonSaria Posted March 12, 2024 Posted March 12, 2024 Hi all, I know there was a rather large thread when the first deck came out, and I follow the creator on IG and he just posted that you can preorder Volume 2, which improves upon the first one; larger cards, better card stock (linen), rounded corners, more detailed guidebook. I never got the first one so i'm excited. You have to send $100 USD to Paypal or Venmo (instructions in the latest post). The creator's Instagram is @rblackart
gregory Posted March 12, 2024 Posted March 12, 2024 I didn't because of the price - and when I later heard how bad the card stock was, I was glad I'd resisted. And at $100 - I still shan't.
MalonSaria Posted March 12, 2024 Author Posted March 12, 2024 Yeah I don't blame you, decks have gotten so expensive
Rose Lalonde Posted March 13, 2024 Posted March 13, 2024 Thanks, @MalonSaria, for the heads up. I think I started a thread here for this deck several years ago, before all the cards were finished, but by the time it came out I didn't get the first ed., and didn't realize a 2nd one with better card stock was in the works. So I appreciate it! This time, I went ahead with it. I haven't bought a deck in a couple of years, so I'll live with the price. For anyone who's not familiar with the deck, you can see cards on his site here
DanielJUK Posted March 13, 2024 Posted March 13, 2024 This was the original thread for the deck..... I know it probably doesn't need saying, but please take care sending money for a deck on a social media post. At least this time we have paypal as an option which has a protection policy (it mostly protects you). and it is the official artist's account. Sending money like this is different to buying a deck from a website and / or a crowd funder, you are literally just transferring cash over.
DanielJUK Posted March 13, 2024 Posted March 13, 2024 Just to add some more info from the post, it's due this Summer 2024. You need to pay $100 as a "deposit" for the deck, there are 2000 available., they will be signed and numbered as a limited edition. There will be further shipping and handling costs later when it's printed. Due to the political nature of the world some countries they won't ship to (no further detail of this 🤷♂️) This is the Instagram post:- https://www.instagram.com/p/C4YnA-KvEVW/
Rose Lalonde Posted September 23, 2024 Posted September 23, 2024 (edited) Updating to say I got a refund from PayPal with no problem after submitting it shortly before protection expired. Since the deck was slated for summer shipping, and there’s been no word on when it might ship, and the artist didn’t reply to my question via fb or PayPal, I didn’t want to risk it. It will likely ship in the fall and be terrific, but at $100 plus an unknown future shipping fee, I decided to hop off this train. Edited September 23, 2024 by Rose Lalonde
DanielJUK Posted September 23, 2024 Posted September 23, 2024 Why can't they do a nice crowdfunder like normal artists, it just feels less sketchy somehow 🙂 I know you can lose your money if the project doesn't materialise that way, but it's better and more formal than money requests from a social media post Glad Paypal got you a refund @Rose Lalonde 🥰
