dancing_moon Posted April 8, 2024 Posted April 8, 2024 Chagrin - Surprise Sorrow - Surprise Upright: sadness, distress, affliction, displeasure, melancholy, gloomy thoughts. Reversed: deception, trickery, emotion, horror, awe, admiration, miracle. This is one of the cards that differs quite drastically from RWS, its upright meanings being those for which A.E. Waite finds "there is no marriage possible [with the Golden Dawn's "dominion"]". Still, he gives it a curious try: Quote The design gives one suggestion; here is a lord overlooking his dominion and alternately contemplating a globe; it looks like the malady, the mortification, the sadness of Alexander amidst the grandeur of this world's wealth. The PKT meanings for the reversed Two of Wands are quite the same as Etteilla's.
