How accurate is a tarot reading and would it apply to me if a person, who does not know my name or my date of birth, or how I look, but to whom I have shared my concerns about a particular topic, decides to do a reading for me on their own initiative? And in such a case, since I did not ask them to do the reading, should I be required to pay with money?

You certainly should not pay for an unsolicited reading. I am one of those here who thinks that unsolicited readings are an invasion of privacy, and I don't know that I would even want to hear what it said.

To the rest of your question - I don't think it is at all necessary fora reader to know your name or date of birth, or what you look like - or even your star sign - to give you a good reading. Accuracy - I'd say most readings by decent readers carry a considerable degree of accuracy, but sometimes that isn't evident till later.

This sound shady.

Why on earth would ANYONE do an unsolicited reading on a private citizen?

I understand Tarot students might read on celebs or politicians for practice [public figures in the news]. But unsolicited reading on private citizen is shady.

Quite. And if this is something more about that nonsense from the one who told you the karma story - please - let it go. Live.

Yeah I don't think what they know about you has any bearing on how accurate the reading is gonna be. That's more of a skill thing on the reader's end.

It's definitely creepy. Like stalking someone on social media. Anyone can do it but the polite thing to do is just mind your business.

Yep, a reader definitely can gain significant and accurate insights on a specific person, including their intentions and past/future acts, without having to know their full name, birthdate, or whatnot. I believe that there are ethical considerations that both the querent and reader must acknowledge before they should proceed though.

I believe that one shouldn't feel compelled to compensate unsolicited readings. One can certainly pay for them if they think the reader did a spectacular job, but it might be necessary to establish strict boundaries if only to dissuade the reader from doing it again.

I would actually tell them I wasn't reading it as I didn't ask for it. I think it's rude and intrusive - and refusing to read it is perhaps the only way to get that across to someone who would do that..

A sudden horrible thought. This reading wasn't thrown at you by someone here, I hope ? If it was - that is NOT OK, especially if they asked for money.. Because it isn't posted on forum that I can see, and readings by PM are against the rules.

8. All readings must be done in the Reading Exchange forums.

Please do not ask for reading exchanges through PM or elsewhere.  This is to make sure that an equal exchange is being made and that the rules are met.

I think it is quite clear that since you didn't ask for the reading, you should not pay for it. This person is actually invading your privacy and it is definitely not good for that person, you however do not need to worry at all about this. For the matter of accuracy alone, will echo all the other posts here by saying that accuracy can still be frequently achieved even though this person does not know a lot about your particulars
