FYI Tarot collectors of limited decks....

Just purchased the Santa Muerte Tarot Limited Coffin Edition from the Museo del Tarot in Barcelona, Spain for retail Euro prices.  Paid 55 Euro + 6 Euro shipping to Canada for total of 61 Euro or $97 dollars CAD.  This is retail prices as I know the tarot was selling in the UK for 43 GBP which is 50 Euros. Not sure what it went for in Canada or the US, but at least it is cheaper than the $150 to $200 pricetag on Ebay.  Anyways, just wanted to pass the info along as on the site it states they still have "High" stock of the item, so if you want one, I suggest you check it out now before they fly off the shelves.  (if you can't find it in the catalog, do a search for Santa Muerte in the store search engine called Buscar....) Best of luck!

There was a huge ruckus about preorders of the Santa Muerte Limited Edition being cancelled everywhere last year, with people vowing never to preorder from Amazon etc ever again. They said it was because the number of decks offered accidentally exceeded demand or something. So now we know who hoarded all those limited editions. :P

I have the standard edition of the Santa Muerte, and it's a beaut. From the box to the nice LWB to the art by Listrani - everything was above par. I only had a problem with the LWB being a bit too wide for the box so that I have to sometimes force it in, but aside from that, it's everything that I hoped it to be. From what I hear, aside from the box, both the Standard and the Limited Edition has the very same cards and LWB. Can anybody verify this?

Yes, I can. I own the LE, and have seen the mass market one.

My pleasure! I have a talent for finding obscure information on the web. My research skills are stellar.... if I can't find it, then it doesn't exist. ;)  There is also a South African store selling for retail but wasn't sure of the legitimacy of that..... but a verification of the Museo del Tarot showed that it is a legitimate museum and store AND they sell and ship worldwide.  Thank you Paypal for making my life easy and my pocket book empty. :)

I noticed that if you put  the LWB in on side of the box it doesn't fit well, but if you put in the other side it fits perfectly. I have no idea why, since it seems that the box it's a perfect  rectangle, but apparently it isn't. No idea if it's just  mine box also. Try this and see if it  works for you too. (This happen with the Lo Scarabeo Sola Busca and Mitelli boxes too, but with their lid. One side fits the lid better than the other)

Also, Gregory is right, I have both the LE and the standard versions and the cards are exactly the same. If someone exchange them I wouldn't notice. Kind of a shame, since they advertised as having "highest quality paper".

Btw,  does anyone know if the standard version is going OOP too, or if they are just waiting for another batch to be printed? Because it is sold out from most stores and I've seen people trying to sell it on Ebay for more than 100 usd. (the standard, not the LE!)

Well I went on their website but it will not let me pick USA from the pull down menu.  Sent an email to them to see whats up.  thanks for the info.

Thanks, I'll definitely try this, Yamandu! I also have the LoS Sola Busca, but I've had no problems with the lid - it was a nice fit. I haven't opened the Mitelli tho.

Yup that's what got me too!

Oh wow, good catch Yamandu! I just checked out the standard/mass market and you're right. Even in Amazon it's currently out of stock. Same in Book Depository and Barnes & Noble. The Llewellyn site says they currently odn't have stock in hand.

This is not the sort of deck that LoS lets go of tho. Maybe it's just massively popular and all stocks were sold out. Maybe it's because of the movie Coco? :P I think that LoS would still reprint it, but just in case, I'm glad that I have my own copy right now.

Their checkout is not very good and I informed them of their address glitch as it happened to me too.  They just sent me a payment request for additional 7 Euro for shipping to Canada which I paid.  They do ship to Canada and the US, just choose any country and they will send you a paypal request later for the correct postal funds like they did me. (I emailed them about me order and address issues) In total shpping was 13 Euro.  Pricey I know but given that you can't even find the regular deck at the moment anywhere.... not a bad option.  Incidentally they also have the regular deck on saie there as well, but at a 22 Euro pricetag which is much less than the 55 Euro of the limited edition.

The Canadian Amazon site still currently has stock of the regular edition as well for those in Canada and the US who still want it.  I am thinking of picking up the regular set too... and keep the limited edition I just aquired underwraps so to speak.  lol.  Llewelyn doesn't have stock but they are still accepting orders and saying expect a delay in shipping..... so I don't think that it is OOP.... just probably they are needing to reprint and restock due to popularity.

hey thanks FreyjaVanir.  In the meantime I'm heading up to Amazon Canada!

Yes, I agree with you guys. I think the deck's success exceeded their expectations. But it is too soon to go OOP and the deck still has a high demand for it. So they will probably print another batch.

Cool, let me know! Oh and about the Sola Busca and Mitelli, their lids fits nice for me too, but when i turn the box upside down, the lids falls off easier if it's on one side of the box than on the other. This happens more with the Mitelli. And since i'm a bit clumsy, I let the lids on the side that fits tidier, thus reducing the chance of knock down the cards. Because that happened before  :P

They also have a listing on Ebay and in there you already can pick USA. It's the same seller (Museo del Tarot)
