Hello, new here. Definitely not new to divination.

Hello, my name is Lycarael. I have been reading cards along with other forms of divination for over 16 years now. I was first introduced to card-based divination via the deck Animal Messages by Suzie Green. Someone else did several readings for me using them and my first 2 readings were both "The Chameleon." Cards with that imagery have recurred often throughout my life, both in readings for myself and those done for me by others. I have been an occultist for over 2 decades now, and if you asked me when I was initiated I would say that basically my birth was my initiation. As a toddler, I was obsessed with the movie Kiki's Delivery Service and knew in my heart that Magick is real. I have very strong fascinations with the astral/dream realm and past lives/reincarnation. This interest in the occult and mythology was unexpectedly encouraged by my parents despite us attending a Catholic church for my entire childhood. I was a very active member of tarotforum.net (the forum for aeclectictarot.net) and you might remember me if you were also a member in the mid-2010s. A lot has happened since then. I am very grateful to have found this forum and am very happy that the online divination community has grown so much over the years and there is now a much more massive selection of divination cards than when I first started. I have owned and subsequently gifted 30+ decks in my life. I look forward to getting to know everyone.

Welcome to the forum.  Just curious.  Is the Morgan-Greer your main 'traditional' tarot deck?  I just bought a copy myself last year, and have used it a few times.  I like it ...and it's been around a while.  🙂  Kinda like me....

Yes, and I'm also on my second copy. The first copy I bought was used off of eBay about 8 years ago and had some sketchy entities attached to it for some reason, likely it was used in spellwork. Got rid of my first copy after me and some friends all saw the same entity manifest from it, I will spare you the details of its horrifying appearance. I literally grabbed that copy, ran outside, and yeeted it into a dumpster and actually moved out of that apartment very shortly after because my entire unit became overrun with whatever was in the deck. But I love the deck design so much that I bought another copy after about 2 years of getting over what happened with my first one. Have had 0 issues with this copy since I've owned it, which is about 6 years.

Gosh.  I've got quite a few used decks, and so far nothing like this has happened to me, thank goodness.  (I think most of them came from people who didn't really use the deck ...they have all been in nearly pristine condition.  I would worry a bit if the deck looked well-used, though.)  I wonder what infested the copy you had?  Just yikes.  Well, glad you were able to get rid of it AND the apartment before anything terminal happened.  And glad you had the courage to try again with an untainted deck.

To this day I have no idea what the original entity from the deck was, I just know I saw it and so did everyone else. One guy screamed, the rest left pretty much immediately. But getting rid of the original copy of the deck and leaving the area where it happened seemed to fix the issue. I just hope whoever had that apartment after me was okay, though I have kind of a bad feeling about that. I couldn't get rid of it with cleansing.

I’m curious, after it appeared and you all sensed it throughout the apartment, did it actually do something? If so, what? I have some theories but it depends on the specifics of what took place. And what type of cleansing/banishing did you try? If you don’t mind sharing!

I once burnt a Thoth deck for reasons similar to what you mention. But it was my own deck and it wasn't as extreme.

 

As per cleansing not being effective to clear a home ... what an interesting story. Hmm.

Possibly it was an actual feng shui or vastu problem??? Some deeper issue with the structure itself that would have to be corrected on a structural level.

 

The house I lived in 2022-23 had this problem. Not bad vibes or entities, but the structure itself was so mismanaged that the only solution would have been to demo it and re-build. Other people weren't necessarily sensitive to it, but I had to move. I wonder if an underlying feng shui problem didn't affect you but then got activated by the entity? Pure conjecture. I don't know you or the apartment but it's an interesting situation!

TBH it may have been the apartment, at least to some extent, but I lived there before I bought the deck. However, I had bad vibes as soon as I moved in, the entire unit smelled of cat piss and had an ethereal vibe, but in a bad way, like it was another, duller dimension. It was also not even a proper apartment, but a month-by-month motel. So many sketchy things that were clearly metaphysical happened to me there, but it was definitely worse after I got that deck.

Admittedly I sort of just panicked and threw the deck away immediately. I think part of the reason I couldn't banish the entity(s?) is because I threw it into a dumper rather than burning or burying it. I knew I should have disposed of it otherwise, but again, I panicked. 😅

Just want to add that I have never used a Thoth deck and never intend to. They look so cool but have always given me bad vibes, even before I knew much about Aleister Crowley.

Oh, I appreciate Crowley. Like Joan Jett, I'm not worried about his bad reputation😉

I now own another Thoth deck but only for educational purposes. I never took to reading with Thoth.

 

The deck was polluted by my own dabbling [and a person with whom I later fell out]. Thus I learnt not to *charm* a deck magickally. Not the right thing for me. YMMV.
