Default Stream option

Hello Daniel,

I am trying to set my default stream and it keeps resetting to 365 days. Am I doing something incorrectly or is this not actually an option?

I think the forum default for the unread stream is "Showing all content I have not read and posted in for the last 365 days", so we cannot change that. It's built into the menu but we can make our own activity stream.

 

So again go to those options, pick all the options you want, like in the images. When you change the settings, it will prompt you below to save it. So save as new steam this time. When you do that, it will ask for a name. I don't think it lets you replace "Unread Content" so make a name you will know. Like My Unread Content or Unread Content Since Last Visit, something you will easily recognise.

 

When you have saved this stream, look at Activity on the main menu. You now have Unread Content and near the bottom "My Activity Streams", if you go into that, first are some forum custom feeds called default feeds and then "custom feeds", you feed will be here! You can bookmark the stream link in your browser as well. Also if you are on the feed, go to the menu on the top of the stream and "stream options", you have the option to set as your default stream. You are allowed one stream at the top of the forum layout. So you can select a custom one! You can change that default feed to whichever you use the most. Also one cool thing is your activity streams are the same on any device you log in on.

 

You can make as many different custom feeds as you want. Also you can only show the parts of the forum you want but that is quite complicated and I would have to dig out the step-by-step tutorial to do that. For now just make a new unread stream with "since your last visit" and then it solves your problem 🙂

I think it saying, Set as Your Default Stream meant it would be my active default. I appreciate the details.

Without saving as a new feed, I think you would keep getting the "default" unread with the 365 days 🙂 

Hopefully you can have it as you want now 🥰
