Dear Tarot People,

In March, I started a YouTube channel with zodiac-based tarot readings. No twin flames, no sugar-coating.

It’s decidedly explorative when it comes to possible meanings and storylines—how could it be otherwise when reading for an anonymous audience? I must say, not being able to anchor your message to a specific person and speaking it out loud really accelerates the learning process. I definitely recommend starting a YouTube channel as a learning tool! Or just record your readings without publishing them.

Over the past six weeks, I’ve been extremely productive. That might change once I return to the workforce—but who knows when that will be?
Until then, I’m happy to have the freedom to simply do what I enjoy most: reading cards.

I hope to see you over on YouTube at Aglaia Tarot. If you feel like supporting my channel, watching, liking, and commenting would mean a lot! I’ve learned that the algorithm values interaction in particular.

Take care!

Hi everyone,

I just completed another reading series on my channel.
The title is "Wants vs Needs." The spread I created for this might be interesting to those of you who like to tackle issues from different angles.

Here’s the layout:

1_3
2_4

1. What do you really want?
What is currently your strongest desire?

2. Why do you want this?
I think it’s important to look at that. What motivates you to want the above? What’s the underlying cause?

3. What do you actually need?
"We don’t get what we want—we get what we need." In order to be more open and receptive to what we truly need, it’s helpful to use tarot to articulate this need. We probably wouldn’t come up with it on our own.

4. How can you get there?
The best course of action as it relates to the topic.

I pull some archetype cards at the end: one supportive and one that’s rather hindering. But that’s certainly optional.

For additional clarity, I read the bottom card as an indicator of the life area or overarching theme we're looking at.

My observation so far has been that there is great potential for growth in working on the gap between wants and needs.

Maybe you’d like to give it a go yourself!

Dear Tarot Peeps,

On Thursday, I finished a series called "The Harsh Truth" on my channel (the next one is already in the making).
I'm using a spread I found on Aeclectic Tarot a while back. It was created by Luminessence and originally goes like this:

Harsh Truths Spread
1. What you want to see/believe
2. What you don't want to see/believe
3. What is true
4. What you want to happen
5. What you don't want to happen
6. What will happen

1*3*2
4*6*5

I slightly rephrased 1. and 2. analogous to 4. and 5.:
1. What you want to be true and 2. What you don't want to be true.

It's a nice way to check your own biases on a particular subject!

Hello everyone,

A new series is up: "A Dream Worth Pursuing".

The six-card spread I created for this is quite elaborate. I considered simplifying it, but no—it’s functional for this purpose.
From my experience exploring our motives—why we do or don't do certain things—the first answer often covers something deeper beneath the surface. That's what I'm checking at position 3.

Here's the layout:

2_1_4
3_6_5

1. What is your dream worth pursuing?
2. What has kept you from realising this dream?
3. Why has this kept you from realising your dream?
4. What change do you need in order to get closer to your dream?
5. How can you initiate this change?
6. The next best step for you.

I hope you find this spread insightful!

Hi everyone,

I just uploaded an all-signs video on the new moon taking place tomorrow at 4° in Cancer.

Conjunct Jupiter and coming off the square to Saturn/Neptune in Aries, it could be quite intense.

The layout I used (What to increase? What to reduce? What to maintain?) is inspired by Oblique Strategies, "a card-based method for promoting creativity jointly created by musician/artist Brian Eno and multimedia artist Peter Schmidt."

There are several online versions of this. Here is one for example.

All the best!

Hi Tarot Peeps,

I just finished the recent series where I used the Ikigai spread as inspired by @Nemia

Working through this 9-card layout more than a dozen times now, I made some observations I'd like to share.

I find the placements and their descriptive terms, combined with our general associations with them, can get in the way of what actually needs our attention. Broadening the scope of each placement facilitates understanding of the dynamics that are at play.

Below I suggest further interpretations of the placements, their possible relationship to one another, and alternative questions.

1. What you love
What excites you? Where do you feel drawn to? What are you longing for?
I'm also inclined to read this position as "what makes you feel safe".

2. What are you good at?
Talents or strengths you are aware of. I wonder if this can also allude to automatic behaviour. "Good" meaning "you do this a lot".

3. What the world needs
This is terribly general. At least one should add "from you". After this first cycle of readings, I can also imagine this placement is about either some talents we're not aware of, talents we're reluctant to apply, or a behaviour that's asked of us in order to restore a balance between us and our environment.

4. What you can be paid for
It is telling for the time we're in that the question of purpose is tied to money. So let's ask: What can you be rewarded for?
Maybe this placement hints at the greatest potential, or an opportunity to receive an echo of that which we love.

5. Passion (From Latin passiō, a proper-noun use of passiō [“suffering”])
What are you burning for? The fire analogy already gives a clue: passion can hint at a tendency to not let go of something, no matter if that something is positive or negative, skilful or unskilful.
This position can reveal a compulsive element in that regard. Or determination.
I see a relation between 5. Passion and 7. Profession like cause and effect: What you're not willing to let go of (Passion) makes you commit to a certain behaviour (Profession) that is visible or public.

6. Mission
What do you want to bring about? What do you want to achieve through effort?

7. Profession
This is how we show up in order to fuel our mission (can be healthy or unhealthy fuel). I find the relation between 5./7. and 6./8. reveals a lot about the dynamics in the current situation and helps to formulate the interpretation of each card more precisely.

8. Vocation
What are you called to do (now)? These are the efforts needed to realise your mission. 8. Vocation being the action that supports 6. Mission.

9. Ikigai
Your purpose in life—for now. An experience as described by the card that you want to embrace. Amor Fati. Even if it's The Devil or the 5 of Wands—this is exactly where you want to be. In that respect, I would consider the ninth card in its entirety, with all its light and shadow attributes.

In the midst of the Aquarius reading, I was reminded of the principles of lean management (originating in the production system of Toyota). I'm not super knowledgeable when it comes to Japanese philosophies, but what always strikes me is a minimalist approach in order to avoid waste. Waste being the result of excess, inefficient efforts, and short-term thinking. With this in mind, I think of the card that denotes the Ikigai as the experience that leads us through our current life situation in the most efficient way. Not in the most pleasant way, but the least painful in the long run. Be [...], my friend

Hi everyone,

Yesterday I finished the recent series "The Harsh Truth" (see post above). All of a sudden, after more than four months and over 300 videos, one video went viral. This has been an interesting experience I’d like to share with you.

Usually, my videos get anywhere between 3 and 200 views; those being the extremes. The video that went viral has reached 1821 views so far. After the initial excitement (mixed with disbelief) as the numbers kept going up, I thought: will this ever stop? It felt like The Chariot in reverse—losing control, flying off the rails. Am I afraid of success?

If you’ve ever been curious about what a channel back-end looks like, here are some screenshots. Questions and comments are always welcome!

As if I did something close to nothing in the weeks before:

Funnily, I had predicted this for myself. Before creating videos for each sign, I always do the same reading for myself, just to get my own stuff out of the system, so to speak. In "The Most Important Thing” reading, I got Empress and Hierophant in the position “What will be a surprise?”. I immediately thought of growth on my channel (Hierophant being the system here, or the transmitter), clarified by the cards Domicile and Pleasure. Well, I didn’t expect this kind of growth!

Let’s see whether this was a one-hit wonder or something more substantial. After all, my subscriber count went from 97 to 149!

New series starting today: "The Blind Spot in Your Connection".

I went on a deep dive watching your videos recently, however the Aries traffic has nothing to do with me 😅

The amount of time and effort you put into the vids, it's well deserved xx

We're almost back to normal on planet Aglaia, see screenshot. I'd really like to know what particular set of viewer behaviours leads the algorithm to push certain videos to so many more potential viewers compared to others. I'll never know. But I'll keep hanging in there.

Recent series is up: "Ultimate Happiness". It's the second round, and I've just realised I haven't introduced this spread here yet. It reads beautifully—it's actually my monthly. I initially found it on AT way back and figured it's from the Complete Book of Tarot Spreads by Evelin Buerger and Johannes Fiebig. For my personal readings I use The Light and Shadow in conjunction with the Psycho-Tarot.

I love this spread because the final placement says: this solution will be a blessing. It's nice to head into a new month with this expectation set.

The off-camera layout looks like this:

__6__
_1_2_
3_4_5

1. This is what you'll get rid of (not necessarily what you wanted to let go of)
2. This is what you'll accomplish (not necessarily what you wished for)
3. This goes with it (directly connected to 2.)
4. This will bring you luck
5. You'll be confronted with this (more often than not challenging)
6. This solution will be a blessing

On camera I use a more compact layout:
1_6_2
3_4_5

Maybe you want to give it a try!
