rainydayinagoodway Posted August 13 Posted August 13 Hi All:) I am new here and already completely blown away by the knowledge, passion, and insight available on these pages! I have been practicing different forms of divination and channeling for years, but I count myself a novice and do not have a daily practice. Thank you for all of these fantastic discussions on the ways in which to interpret the Tarot. You are such a valuable resource to those of us that want to intuit the cards in our own way, in their intended way, so that the world doesn't get all muddied up with misinformation and eager readers who (perhaps unknowingly) bend the cards to fit a desired narrative. I am no stranger to this myself, which is why I value the mentorship of those who have studied and honed their relationship with the cards through their own practice. So again, I thank you for these forums, and I cant wait to dive deep into all of the knowledge and feedback available here. Maybe one day I, too, can help others to interpret the Tarot through my own experience. That is the dream!

Alas, we all have unconscious biases (or conscious judgements) that can drive our narratives. The beauty of reading Tarot is that - hopefully - we get an intimate interaction with people, often strangers, that allows us to overcome brushing them with the broad brush. I am reminded of a quote attributed to Abraham Lincoln "I do not like that man, I must get to know him better". So often we just pass by people, or we work with people etc. they're strangers, and remain so - so we can have a sense of judgement about them because they're not conforming to our "the way things should be". These days what a person wears, what they say, how they say it, how they think, what they do, where they live, who they associate with, what car they drive, what job they have and so on .... you get the drift, makes us pigeonhole and other people - because we're conditioned by society and that conditioning is increasingly rigid and creating increasingly rigid structures that we are all expected to adhere to. That stifles creativity and happiness - because it ends up that the only image we see, and want to see, as we walk around the world is a reflection of ourself in a mirror. Look at workplaces where people are hired because they are likeable, not skilled and talented and really able to make a beneficial difference. Not much hope for freedom in that - and a bit - dare I say narcissistic - which seems all too prevalent a label for people when we look at social media feeds. ANYWAY! My point is, hopefully we break our conditioning, release pre-conceived narratives, and expand our mind, body and spirit by being one with others, and as Ram Dass said "walk each other home". All by getting to know people and ourselves through the Tarot. Again, welcome to the boards. I tend to go off on tangents and ramble a lot, that was an introduction to me 😄 .
