Hi. So I am brand new to this community.  I am also pretty new to tarot.  I am a 61 year old man who lives in San Diego, CA. For the past 8 years my main focus has been on recovery from severe childhood traumas.  The healing required a great deal of solitude.  And I can now happily report that I made enough progress in my healing that I now am really seeking community.  I also learned a tremendous amount about spirit and about the psyche during my healing years.  My goal now is to study the tarot well enough to be able to use that practice to deepen my spiritual work and to also use the cards to assist others.

 

I recently took a look at the Biddy Tarot community and something she said really resonated with me.  Basically her perspective is to not use the cards as a predictive device but instead to use them as a tool for ones ongoing liberation.  And this means that, as a reader, I can assist others in helping them use the cards in that way.

 

That just seems like such a refreshing and deeply empowering perspective. And it is the one that I will use as I continue to learn and practice tarot.
