hi, I'm Sybil!

Featured Replies

hey all! it's an honour for me to be a part of the Tarot, Tea & Me community!

online, I go by Sybil (she/her). I'm a university student studying Art History in Italy. in fact, English is not my first language – Italian is, so I apologise beforehand for any mistakes.

when it comes to Tarot, I first ran into it in 2019... and it stuck in my head ever since! with years passing by, I also learned other divination systems – Vera Sibilla, Lenormand, Parlour Sybil, Italian cartomancy, etc.

it's a pleasure to meet you all!

Welcome to the community @silly-sybil :animated-smileys-signs-085: I'm glad you have found us here and your English is excellent. Please join in any divination discussions you want to. There is more freedom and more areas of the forum when you reach 5 posts 🙂 :78496:

thank you both for replying! I'm definitely looking forward to posting some more content – perhaps I could start with taking a look at the drafts I have in my Google Drive. and I'm glad to know that I'm in good company! 🫶🏻

Oh, that's wonderful, another art historian! And studying in Italy! I remember when Giovanna Melandri said that being the Minister of Culture in Italy felt like being the Minister of Oil in Saudi Arabia 😄

Art historical knowledge gives you a very interesting angle on the cards. Welcome to the forum!

Welcome @silly-sybil! Happy to have you here and I hope you’ll share your experience with Italian cartomancy with us! :azn:

Welcome Sybil.  Interesting name you picked.  Have you been to Cumae (Cuma), her historical seat?  Lovely spot.

It's good to have Italians like you join us, not just because Italians are generally wonderful people, but also because Italy is historically ground zero for tarot.  You may bring added perspectives and insights to discussions from your immediate access to sources.  Anyway, glad to have you here!

Welcome!! I hope you enjoy your time here 🙂

You are not the only non-native English writer here. Many of us are familiar with this worry very well. Don't worry.

Welcome! I look forward to your description of the Italian Tradition.
